Property Ratings at Shift
So far I’m extremely happy with the building, I’m just bummed because my apartment is directly near the garbage deposal and the dumpster so there are thousands of fruit flies everywhere. Also certain payments that I’ve made haven’t been updated so every month I can’t pay my rent by mobile. I have to go to the bank, get a cashiers check and pay the accurate pricing. Just wish communication was better :(
Very helpful staff and great neighbors. Convenient location, walkable. Fun community events. Property and amenities are clean and look good.
Love the floor plans and finishes! It’s nice they do events but usually at residents own expense, for example full price food trucks. They do nice ones occasionally though! Wish there were more. Most of all, I wish the change in management a few times would slow down and have better communication from new management. For instance, I still don’t get community updates and my husband forwards them. The biggest thing for us is neglect of the community maintenance. Sadly they charge move outs for damage but don’t even keep up their hallways. Dirty carpets for years that need painting, more regular painting to keep up the cleanliness and the window washing we were promised for a year now. The regional is the best part of Shift. He cares and tries but needs better approvals and team on site for better rents & experiences.
Great community and amazing property staff that respond quickly. Property is well maintained and fixed in a timely manner. Best apartment experience I’ve had.
Windows haven't been washed in 2.5 years. Garage doors have been non operational for months now. No transparency as to when either are getting fixed. Despite both of these, rent continues to increase on lease renewal by default without push back.
for the most part everything has been great. from staff to amenities. and a few has room for improvement. the sidewalk around the premises are unbearable to walk, they smell really bad because of the dog pee and poop. you guys need to use soap when power washing it. its been attracting a lot of flies.
Very helpful staff. Good neighbors and fun community events. Convenient location in downtown. Building looks new and clean. Great views from skydeck!
I enjoy living here… Has been the best experience living downtown that I’ve had so far. Very convenient, not noisy, and a great community to be part of!
I absolutely love this place. No matter what age you are, there's family's as well as young people. Ita super safe and all the staff are friendly and helpful.
Love living here, the only downfall is the 6th floor always smells like urinr and people don’t always clean up after their pets! We love the amenities and social gatherings!
Amazing staff, beautiful ammenities, attentive maintenance! Overall I’ve loved the experience. It’s pretty quiet in the unit, but there’s great stuff going on around the building if you want community. Awesome place to live!
Love living here. So lose to so many fun things. Conviently close to shops downtown and the beach! Really excited to experience a San Diego summer here soon.
The move in process was very simple. My apartment was vern updated with appliances and I have my dream bathroom and closet. The pool is amazing. Everything is perfect here!
I really loved this property when I first found out that I was moving to San Diego. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the person who was originally helping me, no longer works for shift so when I showed up it seemed as if they weren’t expecting me and wasn’t ready. However they quickly turned the apartment around and wasn’t able to rectify the issues I brought up. Which showed me great customer service and that they care.
My recent experience at Shift is that the office doesn’t answer the phone and the community needs a lot of work. There are vehicles that are not charging parked in EV spots regularly. Many times, the vehicles aren’t electric. Residents don’t look after their pets here. There’s currently a giant poo in the middle of the hallway on the third floor and I haven’t been able to reach the leasing office. There are a few quality security guards but there are two older men that are lazy and unhelpful.
Enjoy the amenities and great views from Skydeck. Or, walk to favorite downtown locations. Or, attend a fun community event and meet cool neighbors. So many options!
Neighbors, community events and staff make the stay awesome. Location is very convenient. Building and amenities look good. Great views from skydeck.
This place is beautiful. The amenities are excellent, the community is positive, the staff is so kind and helpful, our view is breathtaking. We love coming home to our safe, comfy, welcoming sanctuary. We love it!
We absolutely love it here, Adrian has been so so helpful in every process we’ve come across! We’ve just renewed our lease and moved into a bigger space, can’t wait to start growing our family
Love living here. The community is very friendly. The amenities are great. Glad we made the choice to move here. We use the pool, the sauna and the gym almost every day.
Love our apartment, don't love the stained hallway carpets, dirty walls and the overall way the community common areas are kept. Also don't love the pet run area due to it being neglected more often than not. Homeless should not be allowed to loiter/sleep or linger in the areas outside the doors, or sleep in the outside stairs.
Beautiful views from sky deck, enjoy the amenities, or walk to popular tourist locations in downtown San Diego - there’s so many options at Shift! Great staff
Wonderful apartment community, neighbors, amenities and location. Property has new and clean look. Fun community events. Very helpful staff.
We love the apartment building very much! Everyone in the leasing office is great to work with and we’ve had a great time communicating with them. The building itself is nice, the amenities are good, and the location is awesome
I love it here ?? The community, the staff , the building. Everyone here is respectful, supportive and kind. I came here from a horrible building and I’ve been happy ever since.
Amazing amenities and management! Modern kitchen has all the necessities, including washer and dryer! We were lucky to enjoy the quiet inner courtyard from our balcony, with only one neighbour on the side and the breeze form the opening at the corner of the 15th St & J St.
“I love my building because it feels like home—cozy, safe, and filled with little moments of peace and joy. Every day here brings comfort.” ????
We love our apartment and all the amenities provided. The rooftop pool, jacuzzi, and bbq area is my favorite spot to hang out. The business area is also great when I'm working from home or just need to take a quick meeting. They also offer coffee.
Good for the most part just moving on. A lot of things are broke though for a long time unfortunately. Like the front door, garage door, water.
Excellent place to live, would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay. Top tier management. The amenities are amazing
I have continuing to renew for 3 years now and absolutely loving my space. The rooftop is top notch and management and maintenance are very responsive.
This has been the most amazing experience of moving into a unit. Staff are very professional and have been such a big help. The property is very well clean and very well maintained.
Thank you to the great staff! Property looks new, clean and cool, with amazing views from skydeck and amenities. Conveniently located within walking distance to everything in downtown San Diego. Fun community events.
The community is really friendly when we meet in the common areas, and it is very pleasant to enjoy their amenities with my husband, all the workers are very helpful ????
Amazing amenities, incredible customer service, really great place to live—enclosed, secure building, located five minutes from Coronado, downtown and all the great stuff San Diego has to offer!
Shift offers a lot of amenities that are not available other apartment buildings, including the beautiful and spacious workspace, gym, pool, bark park, terrace garden, and community room.
I had a smooth move in, Adrian made the experience as perfect as moving into an apartment can be! I love it here so far, everyone is kind, and the apartments are extremely spacious with a lot of storage! Definitely recommend!
We’ve only been here a few days but we love it so far! Amenities are top notch and everyone is friendly! It’s very clean and quiet despite being downtown!
It is a very quiet place to live, we are new here and we continue to explore the area, the city is very beautiful, the neighbors are really nice
Good amenities. Gym is solid. Pool is good. Price is fair compared to other apartments in the area. Our apartment layout is great. Garage doors are continuously broken - other safety concerns like alarms constantly sounding on the alarm panels. The sidewalks need to be washed. People with dogs need to be regulated.
Generally love living here. Adrian in the leasing department has been a great asset to the building, super friendly and easy to work with. Any issues had are taken care of swiftly.
Have a blast listing here. Just close enough to all the fun things that happen downtown with out being too close. I get home around 1 am sometimes due to work and I still feel safe in the neighborhood
Lived here for a year and decided to move out after the lease renewal came around, and they were increasing prices. It's just not worth it. Yeah, the highlight of this place is the rooftop, but that's it, and good luck getting a seat by the pool on a busy day because there aren't many. Maintenance is pretty good. Security does nothing for loud neighbors better off handling it yourself. Cleaning is done frequently, but the residents DO NOT pick up after themselves. The "Dog Walk" area on the 6th floor is like a nightmare poop everywhere and smells gross. Management is terrible about responding to emails or picking up the phone, so just go see them in person. The location is infested with homeless right outside and down the street. The parking gate is always broken, so it stays open, and anyone can come in and steal your stuff from the parking lot, which happened to me, and absolutely NOTHING was done for me. The units themselves are nice and have the views and tech things you would expect with up-to-date appliances, but the windows haven't been cleaned my whole time there, so it was pretty dirty. The downstairs office working area is pretty nice if you work from home, and the other patio on the 5th floor is swarmed with nats and other bugs it's hardly ever used. Also upon move out I obviously made sure to clean my unit throughly and still got charged $195 for a “Professional Cleaning” and $215 for a “Professional Paint Restoration” for small nail holes throughout the unit. But hey, at least you live downtown, right?
Great building and staff. The residents do need to do better in keeping the community clean , especially the dog owners. I wish they would have better machines in the gym.
I like almost everything about Shift; it’s convenient to downtown / work, my apartment is well designed, and beautiful, and I like that I’m not charged for parking both my car and motorcycle. The few negatives (and these aren’t really Shifts’ fault) are my upstairs nieghbor runs a bowling alley or perhaps ballet classes, the stains on the common hallway carpets, the smell of dog urine around the outside of the building, and dirty garage / broken glass on elevators.
So far it's really met our expectations. The staff have all been so friendly, grounds are all clean, and we love our apartment space. The area is also so walkable, already have found many new favorite gems around
Great apartments location is good but homeless problem is not good. The service of the hot tub could be improved. Everything else has been great
Everything was effortless and easy staff was amazing and very informative Thank you shift for a great experience I’ve been leaving here for about 4 months and it’s been a wonderful experience
Decent value. Good location. Solid amenities. Retail on the first floor has an excellent dry cleaners, the boxing club, and a craft beer bar. None of the complaints of the other buildings in the neighborhood.
Lived here 3 years. Love the elevator and garage situation as compared to other buildings! Maintenance and staff also deserve praise! Downside is the area is a little sketch, still but the homelessness has gotten better!
