Property Ratings at Sherwood Forest Apartments
This place is trash. Do not waste your time or money. The old owner "supposedly" moved out the country and gave the property to his niece. The manager says the neice doesnt care about the horrible living conditions she just wants money. The managers response to fixing anything in the apt, is if you don't like it, move. That's not how this works. If you run a complex, you fix things the tenant can't. There are no available apts in the area due to Harvey. She calls to demand rent and hangs up in your face when she is frustrated. Stoves dont work. Our neighbor hasn't had a fridge that works in forever. Mold is coming out our bathtub from nonstop leaking faucets. Both sinks stay stopped up with water causing mold. Vents are filthy on the inside so the air quality is terrible causing us to stay sick. Do not, I repeat DO not put your family thru this. You'd do better living in a hotel. Last I knew the manager was living in the office after the hurricane. That's when she started with the scare tactics. The previous maintenance man of 5 years quit because she lied on him and they would not pay him his paycheck. This can't be legal how they treat tenants. I plan on getting something done about it. Please save yourself the headache. I would give them a -5 if I could.
One of the older apartment complexes in the area and have not been renovated inside but they are better than most. The best feature is that ALL of the units have washer and dryers! Anytime maintenance is needed it doesn't take long to get the problem fixed, even when you need a new appliance..it doesn't take long to receive after it's ordered. The neighborhood is kind of quiet except for the train nearby, which is hard to get used to even after being here for over a year. Very quiet for the most part neighbors stay to themselves and don't make a lot of noise (even the children are pretty quiet). They are located close to Super H-E-B ,Central Mall,Max Bowl Bowling Alley, The Medical Center and plenty of restaurants and shopping centers. The only thing is that is a problem is that they are located on one side of the boulevard and you have to make a U-Turn for most of the apartment buildings..the best thing would be if you had more than one entrance to each building but that can't be fixed.
