Though the streets of Historic Old Northeast, often just referred to as Old Northeast, are filled (if not packed) with unique historic homes, it’s quite the opposite of living in Downtown Saint Petersburg! This historic neighborhood offers longstanding, stately homes on busy residential streets, lined with sidewalks and towering trees.
Though busy, there’s a quiet atmosphere and family-friendly vibe given off by this neighborhood that lures in the majority of its residents. They appreciate the small town charm, historic character, and waterfront views! Situated on Tampa Bay, Old Northeast boasts numerous bayfront parks, such as Vinoy Park, offering waterfront views, open green space, and seasonal community events!
Numerous restaurants, retailers, and supermarkets can be found along 4th Street, situated on the western edge of the neighborhood.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at San Rafael Apartments
I can’t express how bad it is here. All reviews from the others are true :( The worst part is the same issues just keep repeating. I read the reviews years ago before I moved in and I was like there is no way these issues aren’t fixed by now. These issues will never be fixed. All that can be done is a temporary bandaid. Don’t let the nice and renovated units fool you. The issues are still there. There are additional horrible problems with this building and management that I can’t even begin to list because i really don’t want to lower myself into the 500 horrible issues I’ve had and get into that negative mindset because it is just so upsetting. I only stumbled upon this review page when looking at a different property. I don’t want to spend 3 hours expressing all of the other horrible things that happened while I lived here but I guarantee you will have real problems while you live here with the water (extreme flooding on all floors, rotting ceilings falling down, pipes leaking and flooding into apartments, roof leaking, water shut off all the time, so much water damage in walls causing health mold problems, so much water flooding in walls causing fire alarms to go off, dark brown water in select units) horrible fraudulent lies from management, and bugs. I am not some angry person, I even like the management staff outside of their illegal actions but this place was truly a nightmare.
The complex appear vintage and charming from the outside. On the inside: a disaster. Numerous bug trouble: cockroaches, obscene amount of spiders, carpenter ants and swarmer termites. Despite pest control the problem is beyond random unit spraying. They refuse to rent or exterminate the whole building. The hot water heater broke. Most of the building went without hot water for 3-4 weeks. ABC action news came out. No discounted rent. In fact, it was posted rent was due or late fees will apply. Management doesn't care. Numerous pipes burst. Some units have had black mold. Obvious water damage. They raise the rent every year despite all the issues. On top of that, the owners appear to be trying to sell. I have seen a real estate agent showing the property a few times. This is a beautiful neighborhood and I was shocked I was so duped. The county does not come in for inspection unless the see pests outside the building nor did they show concern when residents called about lack of hot water. This allows the landlord to allow the tenants to live with roaches and and ancient pipe system. They had to order the water heater from the few places that had it because the system is so difficult. Do yourself a favor: walk around Old Northeast are and many landlord have places for rent that are taken care of.
