Nestled off of I-80 in southwestern Wyoming, Rock Springs is a charming town with a rich western history. Nicknamed the City of 56 Nationalities, Rock Springs was home to a diverse array of immigrants from 56 nations who came to the city to work in the Union Pacific coal mines during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Legendary outlaw Butch Cassidy acquired the name “Butch” while working as a butcher in Rock Springs.
Historic Downtown Rock Springs is the cultural center of the community, offering a slew of tasty eateries, lively bars, and independent shops in well-preserved buildings. Residents enjoy a bevy of recreational activities at Bunning Park, Centennial Park, O’Farrell Park, and nearby Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Property Ratings at RS Apartments
Had a lot of issues with this complex. When I moved in, the sidewalks were covered with broken glass and many of the lower floor windows were broken and boarded up. The glass was cleaned up, but the lower units still have broken windows. When I applied and paid the application fee, the listed price was lower than the actual price. Expect the actual monthly price to be about $100 more than is listed. They don't include monthly fees like common area prices, real estate taxes, and online payment fees in the listed price. I was told I would be living in a bottom floor unit. When I went to get my key, they backtracked and told me that I actually was given a different unit on the third floor. I had already paid the move-in fee, which I was told was non-refundable, so I had no choice but to accept. A lot of the sidewalks, stairwells, and pathways are cracked and missing sections. Some of the buildings have wooden boards over large holes in the ground. Be very careful when moving around the complex. The interiors of the apartments are ok, but a lot of the floors are cracked, and because the foundation is shifting, some of the doors have very large gaps in the frame. Also a lot of the windows have rusted sliders, which makes them rattle constantly when its windy. In terms of loudness: Usually pretty quiet during the day but often you'll be listening to car alarms for a few hours at night. I don't have any issues with my neighbors. They're all very kind. Just honest folk trying to make a living. The internet here is really fast (250mb/s) but you need to make it clear to the internet company what services you want. They have a lot of predatory add-ons and contracts. The laundry facility is located in an unmarked room somewhere in your building. It is very expensive, $4 for a single load. You also have to use a prepaid laundry card, which you aren't informed about unless you ask the head office. To get the card, you need to go to an unmarked building a few streets down and interact with an unmanned laundry machine. I had maintenance enter into my apartment without knocking or prior notice a few times as well. Usually their reasoning is they mistook my unit for someone else's. Once they entered while I was taking a shower, which was pretty horrifying. It doesn't help that the nearby area is already pretty sketchy. If you want privacy, might want to look at a different location.
I really enjoyed living here! The outside of the buildings didn’t look very great but the inside of my apartment was awesome! I love all the new paint and newer looking cupboards and appliances. Also, anytime I needed help in my apartment, the office manager and maintenance were ready to help!
I live at RS Apartments from 2005 (right after the property was sold to the new owners) to May 2016, since then this place has been changed a lot, it's not a 5 start complex but I had a great time renting from them. My apartment came with everything that I needed. Before I rented here there was so many people that heard bad rumors about this place that most of them were completely wrong. I think this place is affordable for the kind of economy that we have and great, I have 3 kids and we never had any issues with the neighbors, maintenance or office staff. I will recommend this place to anyone that is looking for comfortable place and cheap rent.
This apartmentshould are the worst place I've lived the lady at the office is rude. I tell her I need maintenance to fix a lot of things when I moved in and they didn't fix anything. It took them 5 months to fix the door to the apartment. I would not recommended this apartment to anybody!!!
