Dania refers to the city of Dania Beach, a beautiful coastal community situated between Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale. The city was originally incorporated as “Dania” in 1904 since the main residents at the time shared Danish ancestry. The city eventually changed its name to “Dania Beach” in 1998.
The name change likely came about to highlight the community’s gorgeous beach, offering soft white sand, cool breezes, and clear waters, in addition to a famous pier that’s especially popular for fishing. Dania Beach also offers residents a quieter alternative to its more bustling neighbors to the north and south — Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, respectively.
Many of the rentals in this area are convenient to local beaches as well as major roadways like Interstate 95, U.S. 1, and A1A. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is also just north of the community, a major perk for frequent travelers and airport employees.
