Known as both Bull City and the City of Medicine, Durham is known for its college-town vibe, array of tech companies, and thriving arts scene. Durham is the proud home to Duke University, a cutting-edge research institution dressed in Gothic architecture.

Property Ratings at Rolling Hills Apartments
For the last two years we have lived here and it was ok then our window was shattered back in December of 2019 and when asked for it to be fixed it took well over a week for that to be fixed. It’s cold.. next the roaches (even if your house is spotless ),the dry rot, the layers of paint on the walls and cabinets. Our hallway ceiling is sagging bad we have a giant hole behind our cookware in which we have no idea where it came from just went to clean behind it and there it was.. the seals on our windows and doors are crap so all critters may come and go as they please.. we have new management here but it appears that as long as they look good from the outside they think the inside is well. There are no lights in the living room no dishwasher no ceiling fans. If you want to move in here good they are raising the prices so don’t expect to pay what you signed for.
Don't apply here. They have denied approve of me living here even though. I meet income requirements. They want me to provide them a "Letter of relocation". When I have told them several times I will commute.
Don’t move here. Moved here in May and instantly regretted it two weeks later smh. Roaches and noisey people on top of you that walks all day and plays loud music. Gonna break my lease at this point. Tired of suffering!
The complex is trashy Always roaches Maintenance take forever and a day Complex staff is rude I hate it here
Less than average apartment. You can litteraly smell everything your neighbor cooking/smoking and hear everything. Bugs/spiders everywhere. Staff of always quitting.
I've lived here for 6 months and literally been having the most problems 1st and foremost if you have kids this environment isn't safe their playground contains a lot of red ants so I don't take my kids to the playground. Maintenance is lazy, There roaches in the apartments even if your apartment is clean than when it rain you get the big water bugs that come in your house from somewhere. I've seen raccoons and big rats out here late night wandering around which always makes me scared to walk between cars cause they like to hide under the cars. My car has gotten towed from here twice and office people seemed to not even care about it. I'm a mother of 3 young babies and when I come home from work their is never a parking space for me convenient to my apartment so I have to take all 3 kids in the house than go back out and park my car two parking lots up most of the time it's been very stressful living here if you have kids I wouldn't recommend
I have a two large bed room apartment. very close to the down to historic north Carolina Central College. next to bus station. very friendly staff and will fix all problems soon as possible. Right next to FoodLion. NIce bike trail and also for running. c
We had a very hard time in this apartment. The playground next to us didn't have a full slide/ was broken and did not get fixed until 6 months into our living there. There were boards nailed to it 4 times and stolen off the slide all four times before the apartments gave up and didn't block it anymore. Very scary to think about your child dealing with a playground that has nails in it and broken. The Laundromat is not monitored and is open to the public all day and so 2 times my clothes were stolen from me or taken out of the wash in front of my eyes and thrown on the floor because someone could not wait for me to do this myself. Some have even taken my clothes out in the middle of the wash spilling water on the floor/ that has now resulted in the floor having a weak spot and being boarded up by small 2 by 4's. The apartment management does not express care either and did nothing for my stolen items or to fix any kind of monitoring of the falling apart laundry room. There were times that children would walk into my apartment without my knowing and raiding my fridge and as soon caught would let me know that everyone keeps their doors open for them. Which with a big dog I do not want the children getting hurt or being scared and having it result in me or my dog being harmed thus giving me no choice but to lock my door even when at home. The food lion is right down the street but the street you have to walk across is a bad spot to walk across as cars fly up the hill they cannot see over and almost hit you about 50 percent of the time.
