When the first settlers arrived around 1817, they named their new community after the one they'd left behind in New York -- Rochester. Located about 25 miles north of Downtown Detroit, Rochester is a vibrant city with beautiful parks, charming neighborhoods, and a delightful downtown that attracts visitors from all over the region. The city sits about four miles east of Oakland University, a large school with a 1,443-acre campus.
Resembling an Old West town with plenty of false-front architecture, Downtown Rochester contains a wide selection of shops and restaurants. Browse the antique stores, gift shops, and art galleries and then stop for coffee at one of the cafes. In the evening, try one of the many restaurants or stop in at a tavern or pub. The Downtown Rochester Farmers' Market takes place on Saturdays, May through October. Other downtown events include Music in the Park, the Art & Apples Festival, and the Heritage Festival.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Rochester Ridge
I've lived at this property in the past with a friend, and experienced the same issues. As have several other people I know in the area. When applying for the property for a condo for myself, it took over a week of calling, emailing and leaving messages to get any answer. I finally received one call back late in the evening after many days and attempts to contact Mark, the property manager. I returned this call within 3 minutes, it rang 3 times and went straight to voice-mail for that and every subsequent attempt. I was able to get in contact over email, however after setting a time and date to see the condo and commuting 45 miles, no one ever showed up to the appointment. I suggest tenancy at this property if you enjoy gambling with the place you'll be living and having zero communication or support from the property manager. Can't imagine the assistance you'd receive were you in need of real help.
Great location, clean area. Apartments have a lot of space and storage.
These apartments are nice because they have alot of living room space and the kitchen is great. However some of the buzzers on the front of the building dont work properly and the building itself could use a new paint job , also some of the patios are rusty. Community washer and dryer in the downstairs by storage space costs about $1.75 to wash and dry a load of laundy.
