Though it took until 2003 for Louisville to officially annex the community of Fern Creek, the neighborhood has long held a reputation as a quiet, inexpensive retreat from the busy city. Fern Creek sits roughly 15 miles southeast of Louisville's city center, and is a convenient setting for commuters who prefer to live outside the busy city center. Residents of Fern Creek take pride in both the safe, friendly atmosphere of Fern Creek and the manageable cost of living in the neighborhood.
There’s plenty of room to grow in Fern Creek. Most homes have sizable lots and appealing lawns, and there’s little traffic to speak of. Just to the north are two upscale country clubs if you’re looking to practice your golf swing. Thankfully, with the city just a few minutes away, commuters won’t feel too removed from the action.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Roanoke
These apartments are located right off of Bardstown Rd, but they're set back and wooded, so they feel more like cabins. The whole place is so clean and quiet 24/7, with everyone really respecting each other. If you live close to the daycare you can hear the children playing, but it's not unreasonable and it's only during business hours. Angela is a fantastic property manager who really wants to make sure everything is right for the community.

Thank you for your kind review. We love having you here!
To start, the management team here is the most friendly and honestly caring I have ever had the honor of meeting. The property has regularly scheduled maintenance crews come through for grounds keeping. The staff inform us of any upcoming unscheduled maintenance. If there is ever an issue in the apartment the onsite maintenance manager is on the spot and timely. One way in and out so we don't have any through traffic. I am a true fan of this facilities set up and I have made it my home.

Thank you so much! We are so happy you keep choosing us and love having you here!
I’ve been here almost 3 years now & I definitely love it here! I love how everything is one level, it’s pretty awesome how easy you can get to the highlands, st Matthews or fern creek because of the location of the apartment complex. The landlord Angela is beyond dependable and understanding. Anytime something has come up I mention it to her and she gets it done! I’ve never had a landlord go above and beyond like she has! The maintenance man is one call away if you need him and I love that because I know I won’t have a long wait to get something fixed or done. I definitely recommend this complex to anyone looking for an awesome new home.

Thank you so much for your kind review we love having you here!
These apartments were extremely nice and spacious, the vaulted ceiling really opens the room up. No neighbors above or below seriously brings down the noise factor. Never disturbed by sounds once! Never had a single maintenance issue or conflict with any neighbors. The property manager Angela is very professional and super helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know and care about. 3 thumbs up!

Roanoke apartments are like no other apartments. Roanoke's beautiful apartments are spacious and beautiful and the best part is there is no one above or underneath you. It is quiet, pet friendly and the residents are great! The apartments are on the bus lines and near major shopping centers. The Roanoke apartments also have a wonderful staff always willing to help. It's a great place to call home.
My individual experience with Roanoke has been wonderful. I have lived here over 1 year (renewed lease once so far). In case you're worried about sound for some reason.. The apartments are 1 story which is nice because there's no one above or below you (less noise than other places). Each apartment has their own little patio that can fit a grill, small table, and a couple chairs. There's also a small dirt area for gardening, some tenants grow beautiful plants and flowers! You won't find this many other places (especially multi-story apartments). Roanoke is a great place to live if you're looking for a quiet, family-friendly environment. The tenants are primarily adult to senior age, some with children and pets. Roanoke is not known for college-age tenants or parties (hard to find around here), therefore, even less noise! :) When I was looking at apartments, safety was a deciding factor. Roanoke was the best decision I could have made with regard to safety. The parking lot is well-lit, with lamps along the sidewalks and each apartment has its own door lamp and peep-hole. There is no loitering of people who shouldn't be there and the parking lot feels safe any hour of day/night, dark or light. There is also a concrete median along Bardstown Rd in front of the apartment entrance, which takes getting used to (you can only turn right into the complex). BUT this prevents non-tenants from unnecessarily entering the parking lot to turn around or stop for any reason (only tenants or future tenants are on the premises). Roanoke's location in Louisville could not be more perfect. Not only do you have easy access to every kind of restaurant, fast food, grocery store, gas station, and bank Bardstown Rd has to offer, but you aren't far from anything West, East, or Downtown. You can quickly get to the Watterson or Gene Snyder. The apartments have a nice utility room for storage with washer/dryer hookups and an attic for additional storage. There is also a laundromat facility onsite. In most apartments, the appliances are brand new or very new (the property manager will let you know). The rent is very reasonable and includes water/trash/sewage. The only other utility bill is electric (no gas). If you are a reasonable person with reasonable expectations and standards, Roanoke is the best choice for apartments in the area. I can't advocate for this place enough. I honestly have zero complaints.
