The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Riverside North Apartments
Although old, this apartment complex is a good, safe place to live. Depending on your apartment location, it has amazing views of the river. The management company is doing what it can to upgrade the apartments. The residents are good -with the exception of a few immature, and weed smokers, no troublesome people. Most people consists of honest working people, grad or PhD Students, and retirees. No violence, minimal to no thefts, not too many reckless young tenants like other complexes. The down side is it’s an all electric apartment and you electric bill can be high -especially in the winter. And yes, it’s old… I like it here. I’ll stay until I decide on my relocation or if I choose to purchase a home.
The office staff is phenomenal, the maintenance is very prompt upon request and neighbors are friendly. I’d definitely recommend this apartment for your future home.
I have lived here for years and love it! Its peaceful...right by the river. But its close to my work too. I love the maintenance guys, who are here 24 hours a day. They are great. The Leasing Office is awesome. They even hold my packages from Amazon. I feel safe here and always have. Its a great community.
I lived here for two years. Overall it was a great place. Loved the location. Loved my neighbors. Great price for the area too. Amy the first property manager was fantastic to work with. But then the new property manager showed up about two months before I moved out. She did not look out for her tenants and their needs. Maintenance requests that were needed were ignored even after face to face conversations about health concerns, until I got a hold of the corporate office, who handled matters quickly and efficiently. At move out, after paying a hefty pet deposit and monthly pet rent, they still tried to stick me with charges that should have been adequately covered within those fees. If you can handle having a terrible property manager, it's a great place. But if you want someone to take care of you as a tenant, you may want to look elsewhere, at least until they get a new property manager.
Perfectly located alongside the river, Riverside North provides a comfortable atmosphere even though the apartments show some age. As I believe the were made in the 80s, these apartments still have some life, but certainly come with some wear and tear. To begin with the negatives, the interior is a bit rough. The paint on the walls is chipping and cracked and many of the doors show scuffs and renter damage. Further some of the doors are difficult to open and close due to misalignment. Although these are small things, it seems these can be the things you find yourself staring at day in and day out. Beyond this, the space of the apartment is very acceptable. The bedrooms can comfortably fit a queen, dresser, night stands, etc. the living/ dining room is appropriate and doesn't feel like your watching tv at the dinner table (although you may do this if you like). Of course, the smallest spaces are the kitchen and the bathroom. The bathroom seems to be a standard size so there's not much to say beyond typical expectations. The kitchen however is a little tight. Often it is difficult for 2 people to be in it at the same time and the cabinet space is troublesome as not much fits comfortably in them. Thus, anyone who enjoys cooking might enjoy it a little less in this space. As for appliances, they are all sufficient for general use (fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, washer & dryer (extra fee). Regardless of these things, the big catch is the location. A five minute drive will take you either downtown or to Notre Dame. This is great for anyone who loves an urban lifestyle or the college atmosphere as both options are available. Also, it is right along the river trail and allows for a nice walk, run, or bike ride. This is definitely a strength for these apartments and is a considerable bonus that may not be found elsewhere. To conclude, the location makes or breaks Riverside North as much as the interior cosmetics. Whichever is more important to you will likely dominate your experience, or you'll consider both and land at a solid average.
This complex is one of the Best in the Michiana area. Best bang for your bucks! Apartments are spacious, even the closets! Dishwasher and laundry are in the individual apartments, & garages are available if you desire! Located a mile from both Notre Dame and downtown South Bend, and right across the street from the paved river walk bike/walking path. Great pool with lounge chairs and clean fitness room available to tenants. Allows pets for a small fee. This is the top selection in the area for cost savings, space, and location. If you are seeking an apartment (1,2, or 3 bedroom), this place should not be overlooked.
