Cumberland is a charming city in northeast Rhode Island. The city’s historical significance runs deep and is remembered today through the Monastery, a historical home for monks in the 19th century. This unique property resides on about 481 acres and now houses the Cumberland Public Library. Recreational trails were developed by the monks at the Monastery, known as the Nine Men’s Misery. Parks, ponds, and reservoirs are plentiful in the area, and more nature trails are available to the public, such as Diamond Hill Park Trail. Local pizza restaurants are abundant in the community, as well as a good variety of other cuisines like Angelo’s Palace Pizza and Davenport’s on Mendon Road. This family-friendly city is zoned into Cumberland Schools with a great variety of public schools for the residential youth.

Definitely worth the big bucks! There?s security, in unit washer & dryer, comfy size apartment for one, very nice gym and a great management staff. I love it here

Great place to live!
Very happy here.. one issue is parking. Clearly not enough spaces for all residents. Only other problem.. toilets are TOO low to the ground. For kindergarteners!!! Maintenance staff and cleaning staff are great!

Have loved living at Ashton Mill Apartments, where the loft spaces provide a lot of light. Having space where we are facing the river is amazing - and, we love that there is a fitness center for us onsite. Maintenance is always responsive as well.

The property is beautiful, well maintained and very safe. The building itself is gorgeous on the inside and maintenance does a great job keeping it that way. Erica Conti at the leasing office has made my experience at the River Lofts go from a 4.5 star to a 5 star review because of her personal, caring approach to the residents.
It?s barely been a week but so far so good. I am excited to use the bike path.
The Mill is set in a historical area. We are a foot away from the Blackstone bike path and also includes Sunday-Thursday Rangers who speak of the Kelly House. I have lived here for years would not trade it in for anything. Also it is dog friendly and please be considerate to others if you choose here as a pet owner.
Cons: Hallways always hot, elevators broken, only some of the units have updated appliances, no assigned parking and dirty dog park. Pros: Nice and quiet, great inside cleaning staff always smells and looks clean, good package system however lots of packages not picked up. Great amenities and great that they allow pets.
I feel at home at The River Lofts at Ashton Mill.
Overall great apartment location is pretty good for places I like to go except Boston. Interstate access is right by it. Community seems pretty friendly and is a mix of older and younger folk. Rent is a little high but that is the case for everybody and I just moved here from Iowa where rent was half of what it was here.

Not a safe place to live. There are drug deals happening on the property (from non-tenants), cars being damaged, vandalized and robbed, people gaining access to the community room and using the facilities, pot and cigarette smoking happening in the units. Local police can do nothing because the property is private and hidden. There are bad dogs and bad dog owners. Trash, mattresses and crap are left out and visible for weeks at a time. Overflowing dumpsters and a cardboard dumpster that is never fully emptied. Management will do NOTHING about any of these issues. Management is absent and never visible. They come to work, hide in the office, and pretend that all is well. The tenants know what is going on, but they do not. Don't let the nice smelling office fool you. Come by after hours and really look around. Look closely at the property and the grounds. Ask to view the service elevator area where you will move in. It's gross. Try to get into the building; it's a joke, you'll get right in. It's a cash grab operation. High rent, fees, and once you are in, that's it. You are stuck. No one cares or will help you. Don't do it. Find another place to live.
Ashton Mill provides a secure, comfortable living space...spaces! Many floor plans to choose. Living history in modern renovation with important features left in tact. Live by the river and bike/walking trail state park. Pets permitted. Friendly staff. Well maintained. I feel at home here.
