Property Ratings at Retreat at Arden Farms
These apartments are a complete disappointment. Cigarette and marijuana smoke regularly seeps into the units, making the living conditions unhealthy and unbearable. To make matters worse, the construction is embarrassingly poor — you can hear every word and every step from your neighbors like there’s nothing but cardboard between you. The cabinets, carpet, and finishes are the cheapest imaginable, yet you’re charged like it’s luxury. To top it all off, the new management company that took over from Greystar is a joke — unempathetic, inflexible, and completely unhelpful when it comes to real tenant concerns. If you have health or safety issues, don’t expect help — expect to be ignored. I will be reporting this situation to the North Carolina Housing Code Enforcement Division so other tenants won’t have to suffer through what I have. If you value your health, peace, and sanity, look elsewhere.
Apartment is good, landscaping certainly needs attention.
Love the location and layout. Wonderful management team. Amenities are clean and welcoming. Events are lots of fun and build community. Safe.
Moved in just a month ago and we already love it. The access to the pool, the dog park, the trash pick up, it all makes my very busy day just a little bit easier. Plus the staff has been nothing but helpful.
People have a hard time reading signs and will drive close behind you when coming through the gate. Moving trucks and boats park here making it difficult to finding a parking spot as they take up two-three spots since they park in all three rather than just one spot
Management needs an overhaul! Trash never picked up! People above are noisy and management could care less about it. Lawn care blows debris all over vehicles and management could care less.
My fiancée and I love living here! Everything is quiet and well maintained, and we truly love the different amenities that are available. It is a very dog friendly community, and we’re glad we found it!
Over all great place. The layout of the floor plans make things a little inconvenient (the washer and dryer doors/bathroom/ utility closet hallway). Maintenance is great, responds typically next day. Another con is the gate. It’s too easy for people who don’t live here to get in. There has been instances where people have been on other peoples patios along with packages being stolen.
Leasing office is fantastic and the apartments are fantastic. Very safe, quiet, and modern. Love the floor plan options. Definitely recommend.
Living at the Retreat at Arden Farms has been a great transition spot for me. Their amenities are very nice, always clean AND functioning!! I feel safe & am fortunate to have kind, courteous neighbors.
It was good overall the gym and pool were nice, the people were nice my experience just wasn’t too great with parking being that there was so little parking and no regulation or stickers In place for residents whom pay.

While the location was convenient and close to essential amenities, the living conditions left much to be desired. The apartment itself was clean but lacked personality and warmth, making it feel more like a temporary lodging than a home. Overall, it was an adequate place to stay, but it fell short of providing a comfortable and enjoyable living experience.

Quiet, kept up well, management and maintenance are super quick to reply about any issue. Could use more sidewalks and sometimes it’s hard to find a parking spot. The rent is really high but I’m happy with the apartment and area.

Our apartment is very nice and filled with so many great features. It feels like we’re living in upscale style! The buildings and neighborhood grounds are also upscale as well as the amenities. I particularly like the gym because it is equipped enough for me to cancel my gym membership! One concern is security, having seen reports about suspicious persons and one attempted break in. I hope that security will be of utmost importance. Thank you!

I completely fell in love with the 1 bedroom apartment set-up I was shown by Carlee during my tour! The apartment was roomy and the balcony and view were lovely! Carlee shared a lot of information about the area and really the location is perfect and close to so many restaurants, shopping and recreation places. This apartment is everything I am looking for. Carlee was kind and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions while making me feel like I was already home! We have lived in a few communities but The Retreat at Arden Farms has an outstanding staff as well as a great community. Stacey does a great job and handles any problem quickly she's very pleasant and Carly delivered a package to me that I really needed even Miranda has done the same thing. The maintenance guys are outstanding as well they come quickly to fix any problem we are having. My husband has to go out of town twice a year for a few days and I feel very safe here. If you looking for a top notch community well here it is. Great job ??

Why did I choose to rent at RETREAT at Arden Farms? First of all, it is located in South Asheville (which is the most convenient place to live), second, it was new construction in a very nice setting, and third it was conveniently located near Biltmore Park Town square which has all the amenities you could ask for: movies, restaurants, retail, “Y” and many more. Having resided in many types of housing over the years such as rental, co-op and condo, what I found to be the most important consideration affecting “quality of life” is the management. I have never before been inclined to submit a review of my residence, but in this the Retreat is exceptional. Having lived here for over a year, I can comfortably attest to the continued professionalism, and responsiveness from the outstanding team our Manager has created including Stacey, Nicole, Summer, Carlee, Jordan, Jason, and Conrad. Equally important are the informative communications we receive on a regular basis. The usual amenities, pool, exercise, facility, club room, etc. on the property add to the many conveniences provided, but what creates even more of an active community is the effort the Management goes to in providing frequent social events, parties, Food Trucks and more. It is lovely, quiet and well-maintained place to live and I’m now in the process of extending my lease.

Nicole was exemplary in assisting us make the move to Asheville from the Midwest. We viewed multiple properties with similar amenities but decided on the Retreat. Nicole consistently checked in and followed up to make sure that our move was seamless and worry free. On the day of the move in Summer was ready to help with the final details and make sure that the move into our apartment was hassle free. The customer service has been on point and has been nothing short of stellar.

I 100% recommend these apartments! Moving from another state was stressful, but Nicole from the leasing office made is so much easier. We were able to quickly get an apartment that fit all of our needs - plus this is a great place for your pet! My pup already loves the dog park. So happy we were able to make this place our home!

I moved into the retreat 6 months ago and have truly enjoyed my entire experience here. I worked directly with Nicole from the leasing office and she has been incredible. She made the transition so smooth and was always such a pleasure to communicate with. She always had quick and honest communication, and has been so prompt in getting any minor details sorted out. She has such a friendly personality and you can tell she truly enjoys her job, and loves serving people. I would definitely recommend working with Nicole! Along with Nicole, all of the other staff have welcomed me here with open arms and made the retreat at arden farms feel like home, which is a feeling my previous apartments lacked. They are community focused and do a great job of getting people involved and growing friendships between residents here via different resident events and socials. I would recommend the retreat as a residency to anyone. Every employee here is so genuine and kind hearted as well as a very hard working group of people. You’re in good hands here at the retreat!
