Renaissance at Carol Stream

Been here two years and not happy with how things started off. I had a list of things wrong with the apartment and when reaching out I was pushed off with a promise that everything was going to be re modeled within six months of moving here which was a lie. Nothing was ever re modeled then with new maintenance they told me go ahead and put in maintenance orders which they've got to in a timely manner. The gym isn't 24hrs and not updated with keyless entry as promised in the beginning as well. They barley got the pool opened and even being opened it was closed often for cleaning. Daniel and Maria do a good job with communication and I feel bad they got left with the mess previous management left them with.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. Maintenance is no help. They refuse to address problems in the home and/or just saying they can’t do anything because it’s an “old building”. There are bugs everywhere all the time. The Leasing Office is no help with anything. There are constant floods of waste water in the apartments which do not clean up, they make you clean them yourself. There are no locks on the Main Doors so anyone could come in and do anything (which they have) They come in the buildings and go through packages and with the ones they don’t want they throw in the trash bins in the laundry room. And they are doing nothing to help. So save yourself the trouble, and save your piece of mind and DO NOT move here.

Maintenance requests are addressed in a timely matter, sure, but any issues brought to attention were given the true “renters touch”. Painting over mold, turning off the “clean filter light” on the A/C rather than actually cleaning or replacing the filter. And don’t even get me started on the Management. Please go anywhere else.

Because when you have people who are for you and not your money it's make a big difference in how you proceed. I just want to Thank Samantha for my smooth transition from a big house to an apartment. Samantha made me feel so welcomed from the moment I walk into the office and made get laugh. I felt her compassion for her job She made me feel safe and secure about moving into an apartment complex.. This is a first experience for me and if you are looking for a decent place to live you too should try the Renaissance where the people care about your needs and accomodations All Thanks to Samantha Stacey and Cassandra for a job Well Done ??

There are roaches in the apartment, squirrels in the ceiling, giant flies in the summer time and all goes without answer from management. The management staff here are extremely rude. The maintenance team does absolutely NOTHING to keep complex clean. This complex could be outstanding if they would get rid of all the staff and start over fresh.

Buildings have ROACHES and squirrels are living in the roof peeing in the walls causing sinkholes in ceilings. Is an absolutely dirty complex just covered with new paint.

We’ve been living here for the last 2 years and recently resigned for new lease. Since that time 3 others have moved out of our building and we’ve had a huge infestation of roaches. Called management and they had an exterminator out to spray kitchen and bathroom but now seeing roaches in every room. The fridge has been leaking for months and they keep coming out with temp fixes instead of replacing it. Have an issue with the bathtub paint chipping and have called 3x about it but no one has come out yet. The rooms are large and love the closet space but seriously considering breaking lease due to pests. Also, kitchen is old. They just paint the cabinets white to try and make it look fresher, not very good work. Building hallways are also dark. It’s lower cost for a reason beware.

I would recommend it to someone who just needs a place to live and doesn't care about the surrounding area.

Upper manager at this facility has improved dramatically during the last six months the best I've had in my 5 years

We have to call in for request multiple times until they fixed the issues. We're not looking for instant fix but courtesy call would be nice if the issue were fixed or not.

Would recommend, however, we were not informed that fitness center hours were only until 6 pm. Usually people get off work around 5 pm so that doesn't give adiquit time to fit in fitness besides a Saturday.

It's nice and maintenance gets things done

Tenants are so messy. Between the dumping of trash on the ground, not the bin. Tenants who WILL NOT clean up behind THEIR pets. YUCK!!!! I've lived here forever. Lots of changes. Some good and bad.

The snow removal over side walk and on Burns street is satisfactory.The laundry is handy and easy to access and operates on card system (better than coin system).Nice and cooperative administration staff.

Stayed there for a year until out lease was up. Horrible management, kids running all over tue place. Neighbors kept putting garnage in hallways. Old appliances. Old ceiling fan. The only thing that was new in our apartment was the carpert. Never received our deposit at the time we moved out the old management had quit I turned over my keys and was told by some temp that was there that we would receive our deposit. What a joke turned in the keys on a monday morning and was told it was turned in on a tuesday. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Not a safe place to live, filthy hallways, everything about this building is old.

Original property promised was long overdue and not ready. Forced into another unit with roaches. The place is filthy, management, maintenance, and leasing agents are crooks. The units are old. Pipes leaks. It is not worth your time, money, or energy. DO NOT RENT HERE, DON'T GET YOURSELF INVOLVED WITH THE LIES and PROFESSIONALISM HERE!!! RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. PLEASE!!!!

If anyone would ask me about this community, I would likely recommend it because it is, for the most part, maintained and managed well.

I know a couple family member looking into apartments and have told them about the community. I have brought my brother in law over and he seemed to like it.

We are not living here, but I wouldn't want to put my worst enemy in this apartment. The promise of low rent is the only appeal. The hallways are dirty and dark. I did not feel safe. The apartment itself is large, which is the only thing going for the place. The worst part of our viewing was that of the kitchen. This kitchen is galley style, I have no issue with that at all, but the cabinets, counters, and appliances are old. The dishwasher looked like it was installed in the eighties, same with the stove. There were dead bugs in the master bedroom bath tub, and this was the MODEL! THE MODEL! You'd think that they'd keep it clean. Not to mention the person they had showing us the apartment was from another property and did not know if they would be updating the unit we would be potentially renting.

This place is a joke. The staff in the leasing office is so mean and lazy. There's no kind of security, it toile them over a year to change the lock of the front door, there are kids writing things on the cars in the lot. Also, they have a deal with a tow company and when you see your car is not parked wherever you left because it had been towed. It is been 3 years that our patio is broken and nobody had done anything about it. I am counting the days to leave this place. So do not waste your time and money with this "place".

I tell people about the amenities and how close it is to everything.

I would recommend it because for the price it really good place, and for some things you can fix on your own..

Since my maintenance issues have been fixed I am very happy with my unit and the staff.

This place is awesome! Comes fully furnished, with free WiFi, water, air conditioning and electricity and it comes with pots and pans, also cable is free and we love it here!

My family and I have been residents for over 10yrs. We have never had any issues and have always been happy with our unit and the property. I will say that the management and maintenance staff the past year have exceeded all my expectations. They have worked very hard. We have chosen to stay in an apartment due to the school district for our 14yr old twin daughters. It's a a really warm and comfortable property

Went in to see this apartment, gave four stars because they had none available to show me but had some available August 11th. The management staff was extremely friendly, very helpful, gave me literature, made me feel comfortable and from what I could see the facilities were clean and well kept up.

We moved into this place because our old apartment burnt. Our new place is haunted!The people are real friendly, but we need to move.

I just moved into my first apartment with my sister, we moved into a 2 bed and 2 bathroom, that feel like its not worth the cost. my rent is 1066.00 not including utilites the leasing office stated that they remodeled the unit and I looked around it don't seem like it was remodeled at all. the drawers for our utensils are not even on the tracks, the cabnet looks like they were just thrown on the henge. we don't have a garbage disposal and the dishwasher is so little I cant put my dishes in it to use it. my master bathroom shower I can't use because the water pressure keeps going out so I have to use my sisters shower. I put in a request like about 5 times and they still have not fixed it. And when I run the water if I wanted to take a bath there is black partials that comes put and floats in my water. I try to clean it everytime but it's too much to get all of it. we don't have central air, the airconditioner is in the living room in front of the apartment so the rooms in the back does not get cool so we find ourselves having to sleep in the living room to get relief from the Illinois heat. there is no washer and dryerdryer in the my unit, there is only a community laundry room. they only have 2 washers and 2 dryers for a 3 floor building and we have to pay to wash our clothes. I just really feel like the apartment is not worth the rent

Renaissance at Carol Stream is run by the Steadfast Corporation. We had 10 days to move from out previous location and found this apartment the next day. Very nice and accommodating. Minor issues here and there, but what really sold us was the park next to our building. Nothing fancy but kids are everywhere and our son is so happy!
