Patricia helped me with the move in process. & she was amazing! Such a big help making the move easy & painless. Such a great staff & nice ,clean area.

I've been here since 2019, so close to it's opening and I couldn't recommend it any more or even want to rent somewhere else. Place is super friendly for you, family and your animals. Place is also very clean as they have people daily going around the apartments cleaning up any trash. Patricia and Jazmin are also very helpful and are there to answer any needs/concerns, and they've made it super easy and a non worry being a renter here. Pretty much just a knock away and help is there! Even the maintenance people are super friendly and very helpful. Once again, highly recommended!

I could not recommend highly enough, especially for military! Close to Vandenberg SFB (15-20 mins), located near shopping centers, with a nice selection of floor plans, in-unit laundry (what a boon!) and the convenience of a garage (most places don’t have garage parking), Refugio was everything I needed to feel safe and comfortable. In addition, the customer service was excellent. Patricia was super helpful throughout the application and leasing process, and always made herself readily available to answer any questions I had. She was incredibly kind, polite, and professional, as was the rest of the staff I interacted with. Jasmine handled any maintenance requests very quickly, which was much appreciated! They were also very aware of the PCS process, which took a huge load of stress off once I received orders. All in all, highly recommend for military and anyone who may need to stay in the Santa Maria area. You won’t regret it!

Super military friendly! Patricia was extremely helpful and friendly in the application and leasing process. She made us feel right at home. She was also super accommodating in helping us break our lease because of an upcoming PCS. Jazmin is very responsive and helpful for maintenance requests. The attached garage is rare for apartment rentals in this area and the security is worth it. Plenty of space. Quiet neighborhood, and the residents are friendly. Close to the shopping centers in Santa Maria, but not close enough for traffic to be annoying. Roughly 15-20 minutes from Vandenberg SFB. I highly recommend living here, especially if you're military looking for off-base housing!

We moved in about two weeks ago and already so in love with our apartment. Leasing was easy and management is great. So happy we found this place.

Moved in not too long ago, nice clean community, whenever I need anything Jazmin and Patricia have been very helpful in assisting. It feels like home and it makes me look forward to my days just relaxing at home. Also, I’m a gym rat and I love the gym so that’s a plus for me!! Kareem.

The staff is always there to help Jazmine and Patricia are excellent. In my opinion, it’s the best place to rent in Santa Maria.

The location is centralized for everything your heart desires, fast food, grocery stores, mall just up the road, and plenty of things to do from parks and events in the community. The owners are absolutely amazing and transparent about their facilities. Never had an issue with neighbors, owners, pets, or kids. If you are a family of five or a man and his dog this place would suit perfectly for all.

Jazmin and Patricia provided excellent service from the time I inquired about the apartments until being settled in my new home. Both answered all my questions, made me feel welcomed and went above and beyond when asking for help.

I've been at Refugio Townhomes for a year and I love it here. The facilities are clean and the staff is nice and friendly. Jazmin is helpful and professional. I recommend these townhomes.

It’s not worth it. Apartments started to fall apart less than a year after moving in. Maintance does nothing

Refugio is a great place to reside! We lived here previously and loved it so much we had to move back! Patty and Jazmin were very accommodating and responded quickly to any messages or concerns we had about our move. Would definitely recommend this place!

I enjoyed my experience working with Patricia, Jasmine, and Grace. They ensured my transition from Nevada to California went smoothly. They responded to my messages/calls when I had questions and were very transparent throughout the process. I’m very happy so far with my decision to stay here.

We have been at Refugio for 3 years now since they opened. I loved living here! I loved the look of the homes and the staff makes it very welcoming and they are very easy to communicate with especially Patty! Thank you Jazmin for keeping the facility so clean and organized. If you like a modern, clean place to live that has a two car garage, friendly management with lots of stores nearby, this is your place. We have lived her for several months, and we are glad we moved here. Patty, the Leasing Manager, was so helpful in setting this up and making it a smooth transition for us to our townhouse. She is very accommodating and friendly. It’s a pleasure to work with her; she’s always wanting to help and make her tenants feel at home. That’s such an important quality in a rental manager.

Refugio townhomes is beautiful, townhomes are so spacious, love the pool area, they have washers and dryers inside the townhomes, two car garage, who could ask for anything more!? It’s gorgeous and quiet, well maintained and office management is great! Perfect place to live! So happy here! Also great location! Make Refugio you’re next home!

One of the biggest struggles in finding a new home in this area was dated kitchens, bathrooms, or another trade-off. Refugio’s units feel brand new and are exactly what I wanted in my next residence. Patricia does a great job of communicating updates during the move-in process and Darin (maintenance) has been awesome at fixing any maintenance requests! Give the community a tour if you’re looking for modern amenities in proximity to shopping and restaurants.

The floor plan was perfect for 3 single individuals. Each bedroom had its on bathroom which was perfect for us. The floorplan provided plenty of space and was a great temporary living situation.

Had a great year here, felt brand new when we moved in! Unfortunately we had to relocate and couldn’t extend our lease, wish we could have stayed!

This place is amazing! My lease is up and gladly renewing! Lyle and Patricia are absolutely amazing and very helpful! They care about the property and their residents. The amenities are awesome! The property and extremely clean and quiet! Looking forward to another year here!

Patricia and Lyle were super helpful when we were moving in. This is our first place and they answered a lot of questions just with getting the utilities set up on time and many other random things. They care about the tenets living here and it shows!

I moved into Refugio Townhomes in early June (the “Montecito” floor plan) and I have been enjoying it here. The place is really close to basically any store you’d need - Albertsons is across the street, Walgreens is next to us, and the Crossroads shopping center is just up Betteravia. The Property Manager, Patricia is really responsive and professional.

Our leasing staff is the best. Very professional and sweet. Our community is very clean and quiet. We love living here in the Sonoma model with our private backyard.

I moved in to my unit early in construction. A lot of the amenities weren’t completed until the last five months. Now that things are underway, the amenities are quite nice. The gym is small but has a decent representation of machines, weights, etc. for continuing your workouts. The pool is lovely. There is a small playground. You will also find pet waste stations. Management is friendly and responsive. I have decided to stay another year and am very happy with my place.

Beautiful homes with so much natural lightening which our last place lacked. The place is so modern and beautiful we can’t wait to start living here

I thought moving in here was going to be nice and everything. I have sent requests to fix things, still no answer. I also have our cheap laminate flooring peeling, lifting and there’s dents in the floor. I have condensation coming in from our master balcony when it’s cold, you can literally see the ice from it. The staircase caulking is cracking and around the tubs. They did a complete rush job and a real bad one. I like how they comment on the nice reviews but don’t follow up on the bad ones. Literally this whole place is falling apart and they are barely even built. Even the stucco is cracking on the outside and weeds everywhere. Why are we even paying for a place that’s falling apart. They are overpriced and save your money and don’t move here

After touring a bunch of townhome style apartments, Refugio was definitely by far the nicest, and most affordable option in the area. Big bedrooms, great cooking kitchen (huge selling point), spacious garage, and all brand new appliances. Proximity to grocery, Betteravia shops, and Waller Park are a big plus too. Everyone involved was very communicative, able to meet at convenient times, and seems legitimately interested in making sure each resident moving in is well taken care of. I'd recommend to anyone in Santa Maria! Still under construction at time of writing, but I'd imagine the clubhouse and pool facilities will be up to par with the rest of the community so far.

It’s unfortunate that these residences are taking forever to be built. Our unit was supposed to be ready last Fall, but when we were told it wouldn’t be ready until this Spring we chose to look elsewhere for housing as we couldn’t wait that long. That’s where our trouble began. We exercised our right to terminate our agreement and receive our holding deposit back. Long story short, it took well over a month to receive our holding deposit back. It took persistence...many emails and phone calls; warnings of litigation; and eventually contacting their head office (Development Company) to get our money back. Proceed cautiously when considering Refugio. If you sign a lease for a future unit, be prepared for delays. If you wish to terminate your agreement due to lengthy delays, be prepared for lies and an endless cycle of being strung along, but stand your ground and be persistent.

Refugio homes are something special. When you get inside they are so quiet from most outside activity, the kitchen is well thought out, the bathrooms are great with nice materials, the design is very charming inside and out! The garage is a perfect size and a wonderful convenience. I would recommend these homes to anyone. Great pricing and great amenities in this growing community. I look forward to moving in and the management is understanding and easy to talk with. :) -Victoria

RUN!!!!! These people LIE, LIE, and DENY!!!! These are not even built, There's maybe 2 buildings and all construction. Also they do not tell u about the $200 holding fee when u apply. Well they have now had my $$ over a month and seems like NO ONE is interested in speaking with me. U cant even call the sales office because there isn't one!! So if you have money to blow, Go ahead cuz u will never see it again!!!

This community is not built yet, despite the misleading dates and false advertising online. No one has moved in and the site is a mud pit. The management staff are dishonest about completion dates, string you along after taking your deposit, and promise time after time that units will be completed on "X" date (thus far, a 100% promise for fall 2017, March 2018, May 2018, June 2018, and now August 2018.) The pace of construction is insanely slow, the communication is very poor, and they wait until the last minute to tell you that they won't meet the promised date. Even if/when this community is eventually finished, these traits (dishonesty, avoiding phone calls, being disorganized, not communicating properly) will carry over into a likely terrible landlord/tenant experience. Furthermore, if you actually look at the units considered "luxury" and renting at the price you could rent a house for, you'll see they've chosen cheap finishes (terrible cabinets), low-quality flooring, and couldn't even provide a full-size refrigerator. (Seriously??) Looks great online and sounds great when you talk to them, but the reality is VERY disappointing. Would not recommend.

They lie to you about when the homes are going to be ready and make you pay a holding fee. When you try to get back your money they keep turning you around and don't answer your calls.
