For a unique fusion of Thai and Chinese cuisines, check out Sizzling Wok. This diner's low prices, friendly service and casual atmosphere all add up to a fun, relaxed experience. Those looking for an upscale version of traditional Mexican food should visit Los Cabriteros. Featuring dishes from Northern Mexico, this restaurant specializes in slow-roasted goat. Lemongrass Thai Restaurant features affordable Thai meals with generous portions and pristine presentation. Start with the fresh roll for a creative appetizer plate, and follow up with the lemongrass combo for a mix of flavors. Redland Estates lies within the far north central region of San Antonio, a city originally occupied by Indians who lived by the river. The Spanish settled in the area, but the United States took control of it after the Mexican-American War. San Antonio has seen rapid development, particularly from 1970 to 2010, and is one of the most populated cities in Texas.

San Antonio holds a variety of annual events, but none occur in this neighborhood. While this small area doesn't have any museums or art galleries, Inverarte Art Gallery can be found a short drive away on Loop 1604. The gallery focuses on pieces by 19th- and 20th-century Mexican artists.

With two highways right next to this neighborhood, a car tends to be the most convenient travel method.

Swim Freak caters to those who love the water and take their swimming seriously. Major nearby grocery stores include an H-E-B, a Walmart Supercenter and a Costco. Those who prefer to buy organic have a Sprouts Farmers Market right next to U.S. Route 281 and Legacy Farmers Market, open Saturday and Sunday mornings through afternoons at the Legacy Shopping Center. In addition to fresh foods from local farmers, Legacy Farmers Market features live music to keep everyone entertained.

The parks around this neighborhood don't hold any annual events, but a few parks throughout the rest of the city do.

Sports fans and those with children probably want to start with Oak Haven Park, as it features a softball field, a tennis court and a basketball court. With a calm, quiet atmosphere and relaxing picnic areas, this park can be considered a hidden gem of San Antonio. If you don't feel like playing any sports, you can walk or jog around the park on the trails and enjoy the spectacular views.

Just east of the neighborhood, Mud Creek Park caters to those who want to get outdoors and go hiking. At just over 67 acres, this park has considerably more space than Oak Haven and has longer trails.
