I love my apartment. Staff is very friendly and amenities are excellent especially the wine and cheese events with special presenters. This week it was Jessica talking about the holistic use of crystals, it was wonderful.

I did not even move in yet my rating is low. I am not bashing this complex; instead I’m warning future tenants. I wondered if the poor ratings were true; then I found out w/ proof. I am moving out of state to NM for school, job, & a new life. First spoke w/ a nice company representative. She told me I could hold the apartment for 2 weeks, quoted a low rate, & helped me get started. Then transferred to Ms. Edwina (manager) via email but I had to call her the next day. She had a nasty attitude as I called for help. She claimed we could not move forward until I started by filling out a rental application & that the rep’s info is untrue & that unit that was quoted had been sold already. She didn’t even say “I’m sorry” as a formality. She promised she would call back after I filled out my application & repeated that each time IF I was able to finally get a hold of her. She then ignored my calls every day for 1week after filling out my rental application (my deadline according to her). I spoke Ms. Marlene & 2employees in the rental office all stating, “I can’t tell you anything. Edwina is not here but will return to the office soon. This is Edwina’s case & whatever she said to do, then you should do it. I’ll just leave a note for her on file. I’ll have you call her back as soon as she can.” I was always respectful & they were all pleasant but not helpful. Ms. Ed tried to ward me off claiming, “There are other important people who need a place to live because they are moving out of state which is major & that they have new jobs & life prospects. This community is for upstanding, affluent, professional citizens.” I received a call (more than a month later from initial contact) from Ms. Marlene telling me that “my apartment” could be available earlier. I informed her that I didn’t agree to anything w/ them & am not interested. I paid my dues on the application & left this complex alone. She informed me that, “Edwina no longer is w/ them.” I believe that people from out of state are vulnerable because one can’t “just drive up the street” to verify anything. I have not experienced any issues w/ the other staff so to reiterate I am not bashing Rancho Carrera. I am FOREWARNING everyone to beware & be careful before going through w/ this apartment. Read the other reviews as well because they seem very accurate. I am ssooo glad I am not w/ them & I truly believe I have dodged a bullet. I do NOT recommend this complex!
Lived here for a couple months now. Don’t bother coming here. Know several other residents and they all wish they never came here. Not worth the money.
After living here for over a month, we have put in many work orders and nothing has been brought up. We have talked to maintenance, managers and many other people and they always say “give us one more day”. Our dead bolt on our apartment does not work, our dishwasher does not work and our fridge/freezer does not stay consistently cold. I would not spend your time nor money on this location.

Rancho Carrera Apartments are out to cheat you of your money. I will explain what happened to us. We rented an apartment in January 2015. The apartment had pee smelling and stained carpets which we mentioned in our check-in list. They did nothing to clean up the carpets. After having lived there for 1.5 years, we moved out in late 2016. At that time we were shocked to see that Marlene, the Manager, sent us a bill for the carpet replacement costs since she claimed we left the carpet ‘dirty’. After a lot of writing back and forth, in which Marlene refused to acknowledge that the carpet was dirty when we moved in, we found she had made a glaring mistake in the calculation which is explained below: In the bill it was claimed that the carpet had 7 years of life, and we lived on it for 1.5 years, and so we had to pay for 5.5 years of the remaining life span of the carpet. We asked Marlene to explain how, when we moved into the apartment with a ‘new carpet’, there was pee smell on the carpet as well as stains. We asked Marlene that for 1.5 years we lived there, not once the management of Rancho Carrera Apartments disputed our written check in list. IF the carpet was new, then surely there could be no pee smell on them. She wrote back a few days saying our account was closed with zero balance. So, if we did not have written evidence that we moved in on smelly carpets, Rancho Carrera Apartments would have kept trying to cheat us of our money. Sadly, we did lose money. After the email from Marlene stating that our account was closed with zero balance, she did not refund us our security deposit. In fact, Marlene did not even send us a final bill of all the things charged to us. It is obvious Rancho Carrera Apartments indulges in these kind of seemingly illegal activities with it’s customers. Our advise to all new tenants - Do not trust Marlene, or Edwina or Sabrina or any other staff members of Rancho Carrera Apartments. Take pictures of when you move in. Take videos. They WILL try to find out ways to charge you extra!!! For anyone who is interested in disputing our claims - We have ALL our claims in written communication and can prove everything mentioned in this review.

It is disappointing to read your review and hear that your stay in our community was unsatisfactory. Our team was under the impression that all issues had been resolved and wish we would have been made aware of your concerns while you were still a resident. We apologize for any situations that have been a source of displeasure and understand moving is a stressful event. Unfortunately, the extent of the damages in your apartment necessitated the charges administered. This apartment has everything I wished for. 1 bedroom very roomy. Dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer and dryer in the unit. I love the gym and there is a pool and jacuzzi. The office area provides WiFi and free DVD check out. The staff is always available and they get right ti whatever you need. They have contests for the community and there is always treats and drinks for you. It is a very nice and safe place to live.
The front builds the apartments are really nice if you get the back builds are not so great. The appliances are from the 70's with no microwaves. I feel like I was bamboozled when i switched to a from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. They were not forthcoming when I switched.
