Ward 1 is a Tucson neighborhood situated along Interstate 10. The Santa Cruz River, and the trail that follows, flows through the eastern border of town along the interstate. Downtown Tucson’s entertainment, shopping, and restaurant choices are a short drive to the east of Ward 1. A step west of town is Saguaro National Park and Tucson Mountain Park, which provide residents with some of the best outdoor recreation opportunities in the desert.
Ward 1 is a largely residential area, but modern amenities can be found scattered throughout. Carondelet Saint Mary’s Hospital is located on the neighborhood’s southern limits. Large shopping plazas like El Rio Plaza are equipped with a variety of eateries and businesses. A mix of affordable rental styles can be found towards the heart of Ward 1.

A/c keeps going out, my apt is always at 85 degrees and maintenance hasn’t fixed it in over two weeks. No more than 5-7 minutes of hot water when you shower, got robbed twice, parking spot is ALWAYS taken, you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, office manager is never available, calls hardly get answered, zero guests in pool, worst apartments I’ve ever lived in and I still have 7 months left. I’m in hell.

While this review is over a year old it is still heartbreaking, if you or anyone that currently lives here needs help with anything please let us know! If we can't answer the phone, please leave us a message. Hopefully the remainder of this reviewer's stay here was less eventful and his/her maintenance issues were eventually resolved (and police were able to find their robber(s)). We are not showing any active/current work orders for low hot water or A/C units out and those are treated as emergencies. According to the lease we use, residents are allowed to have up to two guests per apartment in the pool area. We're currently near or at maximum capacity (with hundreds of satisfied customers), so we must be doing something right. Our advice for everyone is always shop any property in person, meet the staff and residents and do your own research. Unless this person comes forward, we may no longer know the exact details of this person's perceived blight.
I have lived here just over a year and have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Maintenance has been quick to respond, and the grounds are always clean. Neighbors are friendly and I feel safe walking around in the evening to visit the pool or do laundry after work.

Most apartments in Tucson are dirty and the people who occupy them, questionable. Puesta Del Sol is so clean! The pool is always open and looking nice. The manager is always friendly, very helpful, and professional. When something breaks, it's handled asap. The landscapers and everyone else on the property are very nice as well.

Current tenant here, and yes parking is awful. Management is very unprofessional, the maintenance man is very lazy. I've been at this property for 6 months and I can not wait for my lease to expire. There has been needed repairs one right after another in my unit. And they never respond in a timely manner. There was a leak in the roof and it would saturate my carpet after there was a storm. It took several complaints for them to finally fix it. The carpet was never dried properly and the room smells like mildew. They promised to replace a small portion of the carpet, and as of to date nothing was ever replaced. I have not met one happy tenant.

Please help us understand why you feel parking is awful, each apartment comes with one reserved covered parking space and there is plenty of uncovered spaces available. While recognizing this review was written almost decade ago, in the off-chance you actually still live here and are in need of assistance, please let us know! You did not leave any contact information so we are unable to call you, and we are sorry to hear your comments regarding our staff. Every mechanical device in your apartment will eventually break, when it does please put in a work order. Our roof maintenance is up to date and we have excellent vendors for remediation work and any flooring issues you may have. Again, please give us a call if you need any help.

I am the new manager that just started around that time frame and was learning about the maintenance staff and he is no longer with us.We are currently in transition of new maintenance and would appreciate your patience and If you have any current work that is needed please do not hesitate to contact me. Also we are really sorry you have been frustrated with our community's parking policy. We know how important covered parking can be especially since we live in the desert. That being said, there are reasons for the parking policies we have in place. If you have additional questions about it, I'd love to talk. Just to explain our reasoning a bit more, due to our location and layout of our wonderful small secluded community we only have exactly enough covered parking to offer 1 for every apartment. I am in the Office Monday through Friday 9am-6pm. If the office is closed between these times there will always be proper times posted on the door and a sign stating if I ran to the bank, on lunch or on property showing a home. Parking is horrid here. To begin with there are not enough parking spaces at all. Covered parking is a laugh at best. You are assigned a covered parking spot not even close to your own apartment building. Moved in with a spot very close to our apartment which was fine (we assumed this would be our permanent spot while living here), then we got a new manager who decided to switch everything around and are now not even close to our building. I have not met one person who is happy with the changes that were made starting September 1st. Terrible management decision. Lots of unhappy tenants here now.

This review is over a decade old now and no longer applies. We do not currently limit the number of vehicles each apartment can have, and each apartment comes with ONE covered parking space that is physically as close to each apartment as possible. Residents are also free to make use of any open uncovered spaces spread out over the property. The covered space assignments had been out of order for years, issues caused by prior management companies, and we believe what this reviewer was describing was the space assignments were being restored back to the building's original layout, basically folks like this reviewer had been given 'favorites' (spaces) by and old mgmt. company's staff that they never should have done in the first place. Hopefully your issues were eventually resoled, if not, please contact our office.
