President Madison Apartments

My experience with President Madison apartments has been great. They take good care of the grass and take care of the salt and it's a very good job. Samantha in the office has been a great help in trying to get things done for me that need to be done I just wanted to say I like living here. The accommodations are great, the office staff is phenomenal. Maintenance is great, too. And I enjoy living here, it's a great place to live.

This apartment has quite environment around a lot of facilities and entertainments. If housekeeping could do weekly cleaning for each apartment building on time not leave too many dirty stuffs in hallway of apartment that would be better than now . Please set up lockers for each apartment building since right now when heavy windy days, apartment door got easily open by itself with a lot of bugs and leaves came into apartment building!!!

Maintenance is very good just have issues with theft in the parking lot and in the mail area where packageges have been stolen also the lights are not on when it gets dark out in the hallway causing me to fall. Cameras are needed

Great staff, quiet community, beautiful apartments, no bad smells, no rude people, friendly dogs. Plus everything is right nearby. I love it!

This is my first apartment and I honestly can’t wait to start with my decor ideas because it’s so spacious! I’m happy and so blessed to be able to do this at 18 and I especially happy that what I started off with is so nice and modern, I’m loving the new place and I’m looking forward to staying here awhile!!

The staff are very welcoming and patiently walked me through the application and move in steps. It was great to received emails to assure that I was taking all of the actions required.

My experience with President Madison apartments has been very well for me for the last 4 years years, over the last 4 years. The only thing I'm upset about is rent. Goes up $40 every yearand it's very hard to keep up with it. Since I'm on a income that is very small so it does make it hard to pay rent and food everything else. I like living here because I like the window in the bathroom in a bathtub. I love the pool the fitness center. And short distance to 711 and other than that. I like it because it's near the bus stop. Because I'm no longer able to drive and it's a very nice place to live.

I’m having a great experience living here quiet safe and clean neighborhood .Another thing I like is that everyone is nice and friendly I would definitely recommend .

Just don’t move here! It’s not worth the price! Leasing manager isn’t helpful and MH is going downhill and this place is going to be a slum soon. The pictures are absolutely not true by the way. I haven’t seen one of their apartments that look like that - must be the “model”

It was okay for a while but the new property manager is horrible and the property is reflecting the change. The resident's heat is heating the hallways, so you're paying for that "community" feature. For the price, we should have microwaves, in unit laundry, new windows (they leak BAD), ventilation and cleaning in the hallways (they REEK of dirt, smoke, and stank), closet doors that fit, sink sprayers, fixed floors (the crack and creak badly), fixed security door (they never close, they are allowed to be propped open, and it's not safe), removal of skunks (infestation!), an upgraded gym (the TV on the machines are antenna, they can't even afford cable outside of local channels), we can't hang out in the community center without reserving it (the new property manager yelled at me for it on a Thursday around lunch. Like, miss ma'am, have a seat, and it's a community feature). I'm leaving this janky place as soon as this lease is up. Run far from Gordon Begin owned Beztak managed properties. It's just a slum.

I could go on and on about the issues with this place... I won't go into too much detail as I am living here currently and can genuinely see the leasing staff coming after me for it... The unit itself is nice, but communication from the leasing staff is absolutely terrible. My apartment had issues so I was unable to move in, but still had to pay for the days since when I picked up my keys, which counted as "moving in." My apartment has pretty frequent, minor repairs pop up. Luckily, they hired new maintenance which has been ok. Be advised that the rent does not include anything, so you have to pay for water, trash removal, sewage, and gas on top of already paying for electricity. It adds up. The "onsite laundry" is a singular washer and dryer in the poorly lit, sketchy basement that- you guessed it!- you also have to pay to use it... I will be moving out promptly when my lease is over. I have lived in places where I paid much less rent with AMAZING management in college. This is unacceptable. Stay away!

I was able to apply for their last unit available and I'm super excited to move in. Even though they were super busy when I came in, the office staff seems really nice and answered all of my questions. I honestly just cant wait to get in the pool, It looked so refreshing.

High price and maintenance does not fix any issues. Fake fire alarms and leaky pipes around the complex.

This has been a great landing place to move back to as everything is within a very short drive of the property. It's very quiet while not sacrificing the amenities that come with living in a metro area. My neighbors are great and I feel safe on the property. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a place to live!

This place has been a peaceful retreat away from the busy life of the city. Access to the location is fantastic and maintenance is very responsive. The place is a great value with it's location, new pool, and nice work out room. As someone that stays alone in my place, I feel very secure in the apartment, too. The front office staff is great and excellent with their communication.

For the amount they want in rent we should get more for what we’re paying such as a microwave in the unit , a washer and dryer IN THE UNIT , and a balcony . Although we have a utilities fee it’s fine i just feel we need a lot more for what we’re paying . Everything is in walking distance which is a plus . Maintenance is kind of slow they’ll fix whatever needs to be fixed then a day or so later It breaks again .

Maintenance and safety are good. Convenient location and property is neat and orderly. Maintenance staff very professional and courteous.

you have everything within walking distance stores, food and entertainment

First 3 years has been good, but this last one has been little bit a nightmare, between a leak water in the bathroom ceiling, poor snow removal, changing locks on the doors and not giving new keys.

I am breaking my lease early due to the community going down. They are letting reckless, rude people move in. They drink and smoke weed at the pool that is for families. It's always trash everywhere! It's never clean! The hallways are filthy and the staff is rude!! They raise the rent EVERY year but no compensation or upgrades are made to the unit. We just have to pay $50-$65 more for the same crap we live in. I'm done with this place!

I'm very happy with my place so far .I have only been hear since the 7th of December so far so good. Very quiet nice size apartment only a few minutes from my job close to everything..

It's nice and quiet place to stay but a lot of little issues upon moving in. I wanted an un-upgraded unit but they switched my application to a unit that I didn't but apply for and upgraded it. I applied MONTHS in advance of moving in and no one called me to tell me the unit I applied for was no longer available. Communication is an issue. Maintenance isn't great, the 'upgrades' were poorly completed. Once you get past cosmetic issues it isn't terrible but not worth the money we pay. I turned in my lengthy move in checklist and haven't gotten any communication about it, I requested the move out checklist from the precious tenant (which They offer on the move in form) it's been 2 months and I haven't received it. The door buzzer to my building doesn't work - it's constant static you can hear in the apartment upstairs I've asked maintenance about it, they said there isn't really anything they can do (you can replace the entire ancient unit with a new one), I have to go down to let my guests in. I feel safer here than I did at my old apartment in Southfield, but I'm mostly happy with the location. It works for what I need right now. Oh, I was misinformed when I applied - told there is no turnover, that no other units were close to being available. 3/8 units in my building moved out within the first 3 weeks I was there.

This apartment has the worst management EVER! I have been living in apartments for the past sox years and never did I come across a management with so less concern about its residents. You have to put in maintenance request at least for a month to actually have someone show up. Our A/C unit is the weakest. when its close to a hundred degrees outside, my apartment is a furnace. AND we paid $120 for the electricity for a 1bed 1 bath apartment. In spite of being requested to come have a look at the A/C the people here turned a deaf ear. Also, did I tell you the 'renovated kitchen' started to fall off right from the day we moved in and NOBODY/ came to repair. finally after waiting for like a month we did it ourselves. This is not my case alone. Some of our friends in the community have the same problem. so, consider is review a community response. the emergency call line is a sham. You have to hold forever to finally get to the person who will then ask you one hundred or more questions about the nature of your 'emergency' and then will promise you ( quite apologetically) to send someone "right away" but they will never show up. "someones" are always abducted by aliens on their way to my place, I guess. Its so annoying. After calling the emergency 4 times in a day and going to the leasing office for five times one guys came to check on my A/C and That's all he did barely Check it. never came back to see if its running. the problem persists. the storage is also incredibly less. we keep regretting our decision to move here and we are NEVER going to renew the lease.

This apartment community is the worst, I mean it...worst that I have stayed in so far. They don't deserve a single star. If you take the time to read the other reviews, a common complaint would be maintenance. It sucks here big time. It's 11:16pm, I am in 1 bedroom apartment with my wife and a crying 18 month old baby, all are wide awake because its 82º inside the apartment. The AC thermostat is set to 74º, and do you know how long it's been like this? All day! No change in temperature. As a consequence of this AC running 24/7 to no end, my electricity bill for the month was $120! For a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment! And that does not include cooking mind it, because cooking is gas here. So pure electricity. My neighbors for the same floor plan pay $30 max. Maintenance has been requested several times, they only came after my wife had to personally go to the leasing office several times. They gave an utter nonsense response every time: "We are having a management change." First of all, not my problem and second of all, you can't have a management change going on for a month so that's a lie anyways. After a month, they said they pumped refrigerant but absolutely nothing changed. Nothing, so that was pure bs! All night the AC unit tries to cool down the apt, with a temperature drop of 1-2ºmax, which is the natural night time outside temperature drop anyways. Emergency is a big joke here! I called emergency, no body came to fix this after 24 hrs! So one things is clear, this apartment management doesn't give a heck about its residents. Avoid at all costs! Please!!

I've asked them to revise my contract but still no feedback! Full of liars, no commitment!!! They were nice when you first came for a new apt, but they become very rude and trustless after you signed with them. I was told TWO days before my move in that my apt was changed, but I have applied all things and changed addresses already! They don't have any apology on this issue and treat me not like a customer, no respect at all!!! And I still don't have a valid contract while I am going to move in tmr. I don't want to live there even before move in!!!

My apartment hunt was very long and very stressful. I can honestly say that when I left President Madison's leasing office, I knew this was the right fit. This was the most spacious one bedroom in the area and everything but electric is included in the rent! That was a major must in my hunting. The girls in the office made my move in very easy. From signing my lease to picking up my keys. There were a few bumps in the road picking up my keys but the property manager took quick care of them, before I even checked the email that was sent regarding said issues. The first month has been great. I received a survey to complete after my first month and mentioned the squeaky door in the building (which happened to be right outside my apartment door) and it was fixed days later. I was HIGHLY impressed with the response time and speaking to the manager with any problem has never been an issue. I hope I continue to enjoy my stay here and have even spread the word to family and friends (so yeah, I like it here).

I would like to break down the good and the bad when it comes to living here at President Madison Apartments. Good: I have Very spacious 1 bedroom apartment, the living room size is more than big enough. I requested for updated an kitchen, have all wood cabinets and new fridge/stove. The location is great, central air works well, and had no problem getting a covered parking spot. Bad: The water can varies from super hot to super cold, often changes while already in shower. It appears the floors are not that sound proof, had a neighbor come and complain from daily 'normal walking'. Had to replace the cable because it appeared that the wire had been chewed up by rats in the basement and lost signal for a week. Overall I think the apartment is better than most apartments in the area, but I think I may be paying more then it is worth.
