Welcome to Chico, a charming college town nestled in California's Sacramento Valley. Home to California State University, Chico, this tree-lined city combines natural beauty with local culture. Bidwell Park, one of the nation's largest municipal parks, stretches across the city, offering miles of hiking trails and natural swimming areas. The historic downtown features local shops and restaurants, while the weekly farmers market showcases regional produce. The city's neighborhoods include preserved Victorian-era homes near campus and contemporary residential communities throughout the area. Current rental trends show moderate increases, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $1,201, representing a 2.5% year-over-year increase, while two-bedroom units average $1,411.
Officially nicknamed the "City of Trees" and "City of Roses," Chico features several museums, art galleries, and theaters.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Pomona West Student Apartments
Our daughter lived at Pomona West for one year. She had a wonderful experience. This place is beautifully kept, great landscaping, a pool, and nice apartments. It is a friendly environment and everyone in the office was always great to work with. We had great experiences with Perry, Timothy, John, Aiden, and Karin. We received our deposit back, minus a fair amount for carpet cleaning. Thank you, Pomona team, for creating a safe and beautiful place for our daughter while she was there!
Out of all the apartments we saw this complex had the best amenities. It had everything in one, big rooms, washer and dryer, big kitchen, big living room, we really enjoyed our three years here.
Nice! It was nice that Karin took care of her residents and everything was good! Definitely recommend
Wonderfull apartments at Chico, I’ve been living here for 2 years with 3 more friends and we are so happy with our choice. The people that works in the office always helped us with any problems we had. The facilities are great and is a perfect place for living if you have any pets as us, there’s a dog park and a lot place for them to enjoy.
I love my apartment, the community is great. The staff is very helpful and quick to respond to anything I need. I definitely recommend this to CSU students. Cheap rent for the area and wonderful community!
The management office is subpar at best. They have admitted to lacking communication within their management office. They have no integrity and will keep your security deposit. They stated there was no mold in the apartment and withheld mold test results. They don’t care about returning your security deposit in 21 days. Don’t care about providing receipts or invoices for actual cost incurred that are deducted from a security deposit. They agreed to return a disputed amount that was deducted from our security deposit but did not. They required us to submit another written dispute because they did like our review. Also, Pomona West Apartments has not responded to the Better Business Bureau Dispute Resolution Specialist on our complaint.
So far I've really enjoyed living at Pomona West. Its not hard to get to and from campus, its a lowkey area which makes studying easy but its also a fun place to live since the majority of residents are college students. The pool is a nice option, the rooms are definitely a lot bigger and nicer than the dorms, lots of closet space, and the bathroom is huge (its also has 2 sinks and outlets so I get like my own space and its not a struggle when my roommate and I try to get ready at the same time). Kitchen's nice, washer/dryer is super convenient, and staff is always ready to help with even minor needs (I wanted a blanket bc it got cold and they brought me new one )

Thank you so much for your kind words! We love our residents and love to hear about their experiences while living at Pomona West!
Pomona west is a great place to live you can interact with everyone and be able to do lots of activities with other neighbors. Also they allow dogs here and have a dog park which opens up places for people with dogs because it's kind of hard to find places that accept dogs. It is pretty cheap rent even though I struggle to pay rent because I get no other money besides from my job, but for Pomona I do what I can to make work because it is a beautiful place to live and it feels safe.

Thank you so much for such a warm review! We love our residents at Pomona West and work hard to ensure that we provide them with only the best experiences!
The overall apartment is fine and clean. They have a maintenance man that will pretty much be there same day if you have a problem. They do have a gate, the main reason I moved in. They advertise different prices on craigslist and don't say how to get the different prices so you have to call or go in. The office and website are extremely disorganized. They website is not up to date and when you quote a price from their website, they try arguing you about it saying it's not right and they don't offer those prices anymore because it was from previous management. After I moved out, it took me almost two months just to talk to someone about when I would get my security and pet deposit back. You really have to bug them about simple things. They told me probably about five to six times my check and been mailed to me and it never was, so you have to call back constantly but not everyone can talk to you so they will "call" you back. I say "call" because if they say they will call you back, don't count on it. Going in the office is not much better, although most of the staff is nice, they're not trained on anything so you just have to leave your name and apartment number and hope they'll get back to you. Or if you stop by during their hours and there's not a sign on the door and no one is there, they'll argue with you saying they were there...even though the door was locked and lights off. It's a large apartment that is clean and maintained, but the staff and office management are its greatest downfall.
