Plato's Cave - Branson

Everyone in the front office are so sweet. The rooms are a perfect size not to big not to small just the right size to live and so affordable.

I've been here little over a year. I live in a studio. All utilities including WIFI are included in rent price. One bill a month . They deep clean the air-conditioned once a year. The AC/ heating unit works well. I have a full kitchen. There was cockroach infestation when I moved in. The bug man that works for platos is competent. It took several months, the problem is resolved. I'm looking a sound absorbers to put on the walls and door for better privacy. I have asthma. I had to buy air purifiers. Poor air circulation. Alot of dust. Can get odors from other people apts. Problem resolved. Bottom line, you may have to trouble shoot,it's an older building. I feel safe here. Management is always in the front office M-F 9am-6pm. Their professional and personable. All of my maintenance needs have been met. Sometimes you have to wait, there are alot of tenants to prioritize. Well lit at night . Im giving them a 4 star because the pool needs repair so we can swim. The volley ball court needs sprucing up. The outside gazebo needs sprucing up. The laundry room needs some sprucing up. It's centrally located. Community atmosphere. Great bang for your buck

I received a response to my review that is completely untrue. I can provide proof of the $100 off rent because there is a whole page dedicated to it in my lease agreement. It states that if you write 4 five star reviews on 4 different platforms you would receive $100 off one month rent. It listed all the sites you can write reviews on. Obviously they wouldn’t want that advertised, but I wish I knew that was why there were so many great reviews full of lies! Another false statement is about the pool. I went once on a Wednesday afternoon during hours of operation and the pool was closed… It wasn’t open the rest of the season. I wasn’t too upset though because it was filthy. Also, if you had to contact the police department and ask them to keep an eye out on the complex that should tell you everything you need to know about the unsafe environment here. Not only is it unsafe but it is so dirty all around. All the dumpsters are piled high with trash and surrounding every dumpster there is junk and trash. I can provide proof of that as well. Please don’t listen to the liars that are responding to the reviews because I haven’t even named half of what’s wrong with this property.

The only reason there are any reviews is because they give you $100 off rent if you give a 5 star review. It’s crazy here! The police are here almost every single day sometimes 2-3 times a day whether it’s for drugs, fights, prostitution, you name it. It’s very unsafe here and I really can’t wait until my lease is up. Junkies will knock on your door at all hours and drug use in practically every unit. I called the leasing office the morning after someone tried to break into my apartment at 1:45 AM and the person in the office said “ok? Call the police. What are we supposed to do about it?” I hate it here! My place smells like marijuana every. single. day. because the person the next unit over smokes it all day every day. They’re on their 4th property manager since I moved in over the summer! There’s no laundry, the pool was open MAYBE a week over the summer, and your mail/packages will be stolen. They finally just put in mailboxes but packages still go in the office during their hours of operation. If you get a package delivered during hours they aren’t open, it will go in front of your apartment and you better pray one of the crackheads don’t steal it. They really don’t care about your complaints, they don’t care about anything at all as long as they get their money. If you’re reading this: RUN! You can do so much better, especially since they raised the rent. Not worth it AT ALL!

I don't like to complain much. This was the cheapest place I could find in the timeframe I needed to move. It is not the worst place to live, but I wish it was as good as it was hyped up to be. for months now, I have barely had any hot water. It took me running my sink for an HOUR before I could get any hot water to do my dishes and almost half an hour for me to get any hot or luke warm water to come out of my shower. I havent had too many problems, but I have friends in other buildings that had their water shut off and was not notified at all. I do have to say that I am thankful they finally have the mailboxes set up. I can never make it to the office to pick up my mail so it is great to now be able to just pop by the mailboxes when I get home. I dont necessarily feel unsafe here at Platos. I know every place has people lerking around, walking around at all hours of the night, etc. Two things I would like would be for people to follow the rules and not smoke right out side their rooms, and for them to clean up after their dogs. All in all, all apartment complexes have their faults. This place is good for people starting out on their own. And their is always room for improvement. (I live in building 5, so if there is something wrong with the hot water, I would love to know. I don't like cold showers haha)

I am currently a resident of Plato's Cave Apartments (2022) and this is the crappiest apartment complex available. I 100% agree with the other 1 star reviews about this place and don't understand who is writing the good reviews (probably staff or management). The apartments are falling apart and have been since moving in. When we put a request to fix things, the maintenance staff claims that they are working just fine. Speaking of which, when moving in I was told that I would be notified at least with a call when they were entering my apartment and received no such notifications (haven't put in any requests since). We were promised a full size apartment fridge in September of 2021 and have still not received it; instead living with 2 mini fridges. Laundry mat has been down for years and still no sign of it getting fixed after the supposed fire. Not a safe place to live. Creepy people, alcoholics, drug users, etc. Have heard the complaints taken to the office and nothing ever gets done about them. My fiance and I went to St. Louis for a week and when we got back, the elevator had been tagged with spray paint. They claim that they are a non smoking facility, but everyone smokes in or right outside of it. The management are pushovers who only care about making money and not the people living here.

Love the views of the city. Great atmosphere. Convenient location.

Plato’s Cave, ‘like home’? REALLY? Who’s writing these 4-5 star reviews? Truth is in order here. Simply drive around, onto and in the property, randomly, day or nighttime. And the moment you, upon close inspection you’ll see for yourselves this is NOT like home. If you’re daring, come after 11 pm especially between buildings 5 & 6, and watch the foot traffic among drunkards & drugs users etc. Check the unsecured, unfinished buildings that house unscrupulous, creepy people throughout the day, hiding between construction containers, especially at night. Talk to some of the tenants who haven’t left yet. Ask them honest questions and for honest answers about their experience at Plato’s Cave. This will help you make the most informed decision about not moving there… Oh, did I say that? Yeah, but you’ll have to make your decision.

We've had a great experience with Plato's Cave, they got us moved in ahead of schedule, got us a new fridge for our apartment and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

I moved here a year ago and moved in to Plato's Cave and have been very satisfied. The units are nice and clean and well kept. The office interacts and keeps us informed and present professionalism!!! I appreciate all they do to make me feel safe and the property is welcoming and clean. Always happy to come home here!!!

Ive been living here for a year. So far the best place Ive lived in branson. Its quiet, no one bothers me. The people in the office are great, very friendly. The pool is fantastic, the gym is nice. overall great place to live

Everything they advertise is not there or broken. They don't have a pool, security, laundry room, or the gym. Very unsafe place to live as well. Staff are great liars who smile and tell you everything is really ok though.

I paid the requested deposit on 12/15/2021 for a Studio Apartment with a move in date of 1/3/2022 , and as of today 1/18/2022 they still don't have a Unit for me to move into . I'm moving from Nevada to Branson (2,200 miles) , and still have no place to live - and today told me to wait another two weeks ! I find the Management , and Leasing Staff to be anything but truthful or professional . My advice to anyone is to NOT try and Rent/Lease a Unit from this company .

They say no aggressive breed dogs or dogs over 50 lbs but half the dogs are Pitbull's which are considered aggressive dogs and way over 50 lbs..The laundry room hasn't been open since we have lived here.. the game room, gym, and stoves are closed and have been since we moved in..WIFI is a joke..oh when you move in they give you the$500 rent credit but you need to know you will pay $150 to move in but then the next month be told you still owe the another $50 for your utilities for the previse month even thou you didn't live there yet, which they don't tell you.. The front gate is a rope that the guards unhook to let you in..all but 1 of the office person are rude and don't address any issues you have..they are more worried about playing on their phones. They lie to you and can't even get their lies straight between them... If you want noisy neighbor and people living above you that have big dogs where it sounds like a wrestling match going on and just need a place out of the cold and don't mind feeling like you live in a slum this is the place for you
