Southpoint is a shopper's paradise, home to the popular Streets at Southpoint Mall. Residents from all over Durham head to this mall to shop its stores: Nordstrom, Belk, Sur La Table, Crate and Barrel, Apple, and Lilly Pulitzer are all located here. The mall also offers a movie theater and a variety of restaurants. Nearby strip malls contain even more shops and restaurants. Of course, shopping isn't the only reason to love Southpoint -- this neighborhood is located along I-40 for fast commutes to Research Triangle Park, roughly four miles east.
Continue on I-40 to quickly access the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Downtown Raleigh, and North Carolina State University. Downtown Durham is about six miles north, ideal for commuting into the city or to Duke University. Chapel Hill is also nearby -- just seven miles west via I-40. With so much just around the corner from Southpoint, this perfectly-located neighborhood is a great place to call home.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Pine Ridge
If you are considering moving here for the location and price, please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. 1) They will raise the rent cost around $100 a month or more each year that you live here. What may start out as affordable, won't be after long. 2) If there is a mix-up with leasing documents, other concerns, the office is not usually proactive in reaching out to address those issues. The leasing term wasn't updated correctly one time for me and instead of letting me know that there would be additional charges in next months rent, I was blindsided by it. 3) Cars get broken into, things are stolen frequently. Durham Sheriff and Police and are here on a regular basis. It certainly is not the safest or most secure place. 4) They have an agreement with Chandler's Towing in Durham where your car can and will be towed for a multitude of reasons including not being drivable, flat tire, if you didn't place your tags on your license plate. If something happens in this regard they are nonchalant about your concerns and don't seek to redress the situation in any way. 5) While the maintenance team has always been helpful and I appreciate them, the appliances in some apartments are old and prone to have issues. I've been here 3 years and the air conditioning, the hot water heater, and the ice maker in the freezer have all had problems and either needed to be fixed or replaced. Every apartment complex has their issues, but I would consider passing on this one to look elsewhere.
Other than getting an e-mail at least every month about burglary and neighbors complaining that you are in ‘their’ parking spaces..I loved the actual townhome itself other than no cabinet space in the kitchen & the dog park being tiny.. but when we were ready to leave (spending multiple days cleaning before our final day there because we were wanting part of our $600 deposit back) we had paid the $300 deposit and $300 pet deposit they also asked for over $380 to cover the other cleaning expenses and replacing the carpet (that was only upstairs) ended up talking to the manager and they had made a calculation error that took $115 off the total..in the end needing over $850 (after adding in the deposits) to clean, replace carpet & ‘other damages’ it just seemed ridiculous. Don’t waste your time or money.
Pineridge is decent they have reasonable pricing, the south point area is nice walking distance from south point mall, Tobacco Road trail, i40. I great location definitely. Walking distance from food Walgreens Kroger and lots more. The one bedroom rooms are small but if you are looking for a mediocre place but cheapest pricing the 1brdrms are a good choice. Now the town home a great!
