Not worth your money

I wouldn’t recommend these apartments to anyone. Find you somewhere worth your money.

Courtland 5550

Pool still has not opened…it’s the middle of the summer, and hot. Asked to be compensated for the inconvenience, and I have received nothing. There is a lot of noise between the groundskeepers early in the morning, and peoples dogs barking late at night. I don’t know who is louder. I’ve seen roaches, but it’s not as bad as Ive seen other places…I will be requesting pest control. My power cut off on me twice last week out of nowhere while it was 90 plus degrees outside. My key badge to the gate suddenly had stopped working, and I had to go to the office and wait a few days for them to get that right. The gate has also been broken multiple times since I moved in…giving anyone access to the community. For the amount of rent people are paying here I feel like these are issues that should not be going on.

Overpriced, Filthy and noisy

Once again I am leaving a review about how dirty the grounds, breezeways, and building are. This place is a real dump and the property manager refuses to address these issues. It’s noisy because people blast trap music in their car late at night and tenants regularly drop eaten fast food bags, cups and sometimes the food on the ground. I’ve sent several pictures and emails for months. They don’t care. Don’t move here pay more and get something cleaner safer and more quiet.

Perimeter 5550 is definitely the best value for your money in this area. The community is well maintained with a really nice pool and the surrounding neighborhood is extremely walkable. Maintenance issues are handled quickly and taken seriously. All of the staff are lovely!

It has been a joy living in this apartment. I'm new to the Atlanta area, so experiencing a wonderful, friendly atmosphere was very helpful to me. Safety was the number one concern as a female. And number two was amenities. I received both with the gate community feature and having a washer and dryer inside the apartment. I would recommend this complex to friends.

Loud music, dirty grounds, keep driving by

Don’t move here. I’ve had issues since the day I moved in. You will never hear from management about any of your concerns. The grounds are dirty , unkept and on any day there will be a nasty mattress left in the front the complex. It is also very noisy, so if you sleep like a brick and don’t mind dirty grounds throw your money away here.

I recently moved from building 5 to building 4. I have lived at Perimeter 5550 (formerly Berkely Trace) for several years, through several owners, property management firms, and property managers. The professionalism and responsiveness of the current management and staff far exceeds those previously responsible for management of the property.

Ridiculous "Move Out" Fees

Avoid living at Perimeter 5550. I would of given this apartment complex 5 stars if it weren't for the terrible move out experience my roommate and I went through and currently are going through. We lived there for a year and had no problems at all. We moved out 2 weeks ago with the apartment in great condition besides normal wear and tear of living in an apartment for 1 year. We were blindsided with almost $1,000 in "move out and cleaning fees". We cleaned the entire apartment the day before we moved out. Then management proceed to email us with no prior warning that we were going to be sent to collections if we didn't pay the move out fees. They also didn't include a explanation of the charges until we asked. We are still trying to get the charges removed but management is terrible. This should not be allowed, we took exceptional care of our apartment. The pet deposit is $500 for 2 pets and that somehow didn't cover apparent "smell" our apartment had and that is their justification for a $250 pet seal. They charge $25 dollars to clean the toilets, $50 to clean the oven, $65 dollars to clean the bathtubs and the list goes on. They also are trying to charge us $450 dollars for new carpet in our bedrooms which was installed and brand new when we moved in and nothing was ever split on the carpets.They should be cleaning the apartments after tenants move out for new residents anyways and shouldn't be charging ridiculous fees for normal cleaning procedures.I would avoid living at this apartment at all cost unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount in what they seem are normal move out and cleaning fees.

Disappointed in Staff Communication

I have been a resident at Perimeter 5550 for two and a half years. We have enjoyed living here but recently there have been some issues. This past weekend, there was a resident who accidentally fired a gun in his apartment (two doors down from me). The police were notified and they erected caution tape across our corridor. The residents in my building were extremely shocked and scared. NO COMMUNICATION has been given by the management company regarding this incident. The incident happened on Sunday, I contacted the property assistant community manager on Monday (a holiday) and the management company (US Residential) today, Wednesday, with no response yet. In August I came home one day to major stair repair three feet outside my door. The men working were welding the steel stairs so sparks were flying everywhere and it was extremely loud. I was given no notice of this repair. In fact two days later a letter was stuck in my door that was dated for the day construction began explaining there would be repairs. I felt like I was being gaslit by the property manager. They must have drafted the letter and forgotten to communicate it to residents but instead of changing the letter and adding an APOLOGY, they just sent it out as is. As someone who works in the industry, I have been very disappointed with the customer service and communication of the staff at Perimeter 5550 and thus I cannot recommend living here.

Great location and service

I love my apartment! Great rate for a good location (right near 400, 10 minutes from Buckhead), and my renewal rate wasn’t too high. The service and staff are great.

3 Out Of 5

Decent community, but there has been a tremendous amount of construction since I moved in which I was not made aware of until AFTER signing my lease. PROS: I feel safe, smaller community, easy access to major highways, centrally located to almost anything & Jennifer and Drew have been great to work with in the office. CONS: Noisy community, poor insulation= very high electric bills (Expect drafty winters and hot summers in your apartment), lack of parking, office hours are less than great (They are open 10-6 Monday through Friday which can make it really difficult to pick up a package or do anything at the leasing office since most people work 8-5.)
