Sunlight scattering light across the water's surface, the calming sound of waves rolling ashore, the opportunity to go boating and fishing any time -- living on the lake is like an endless vacation. Experience that on a daily basis while still being just 15 miles from Downtown Houston when you rent in Lake Houston. Houses with docks line the lake and apartment communities are scattered throughout the neighborhood, so you're sure to find the ideal home in Lake Houston.
The lake was created in 1953 when a dam was built to create a reservoir. In addition to being the city's primary water source, Lake Houston is a waterfowl sanctuary. If you enjoy fishing, you'll love Lake Houston -- the lake is stocked with bluegill, bass, white crappie, and catfish. Parks along the lake provide hiking and camping opportunities.

Property Ratings at Pavilion at The Groves
1. Paper thin walls. 2. Raccoons taking out your trash. You will have raccoons and you will rather walk to the dumpster a few feet away from the building rather than cleaning a trash mess and stained hallways. Meanwhile, wasting $30 a month on trash pick up. 3. A couple of weeks after move in the pool was closed due to "unforeseen" maintenance. The reality was that management did not keep up with their certifications and was made to close the pool until they are up to code again. 2 1/2 months closed, including Spring Break...still waiting for them to open it. 4. Your friends and family are only able to visit you 7 times a month otherwise they get towed. 5. The girls up front are great to the extent they are allowed to. Maintenance is great.
I've been a tenant for more than 2 years and I love my apartment. I have never had any issues and when I do everything is taken care of immediately. All staff is amazing! I would recommend Pavilion to anyone.
Management changed shortly after move-in and it seems that the quality went with them. Parking is horrible - if you get home after work hours, expect to have to walk across the complex because there will be NO parking by your apartment. Raccoons are rampant here, so the valet trash is a waste of money. Once you put your trash out, the raccoons rip your bags open and the valet trash people won't pick up ripped bags. So they leave the bags in the valet box, only for raccoons to come back overnight and rip bags to shreds in the hallway. If you're afraid of spiders or any other bugs, stay away. They're close to nature and thus, bugs are everywhere. The game room is nice, but only open during business hours. Oh and they charge for EVERYTHING, so whatever your rent amount is, go head and add $100 to that in "fees". It's honestly not worth the cost and I will not be renewing my lease.
I wouldn’t recommend moving here unless you want to deal with high crime and bug infestations.
Beautiful and nice area with nice staff. BUT New apartment was very good but has new management and has began to go downhill. Low water pressure, sewer smell in bathrooms in different buildings, overworked maintenance workers, unreliable management, heavy volume of car+ apartment break ins, roach/ant issues, thin walls, parking problem, website doesn’t work properly. Honestly has become a headache. Hopefully they can get better overtime again.
