Located on Lake Erie’s western shore, Monroe sits on the Detroit-Toledo Expressway, just 17 miles north of Toledo and 35 miles south of Detroit. Michigan’s third oldest community, Monroe is one of the most historic cities in the state. Monroe was the site of the River Raisin Battlefield, the bloodiest battle of the War of 1812.
Aiming to balance the stewardship of historic preservation with the opportunities of economic development, Monroe is quickly becoming an arts and cultural hotspot. The River Raisin Jazz Festival draws tens of thousands every year in addition to the Monroe County Fair. Downtown Monroe is home to the Monroe County Historical Museum and the River Raisin Centre for the Arts as well as plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment venues. Monroe’s Sterling State Park on the shores of Lake Erie offers residents and visitors access to boating, swimming, camping, wetlands exploration, hiking, and fishing.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Park West Club
This was a great place at first but went downhill quickly, from broken water heaters to flooded out apartments… then on move out charges me a ton of random charges that the front office cannot explain. Told me to call corporate who just sends you to voicemail and doesn’t call you back…
Lived here for a year. It was the nicest place in Monroe to rent and in a decent area. We didn’t have much of a problem. Most neighbors were nice, typically see kids playing in the summer. We got an updated apartment which was nice and didn’t have problems with it, even with a dog. However, we did have a few other issues. There were cockroaches coming in from another apartment. The exterminator said they spend over an hour in one of the connecting ones because it was so bad. They did come a few more times after to check and bait again. We didn’t have any problems with the cockroaches after that. There was a problem when trying to go to the pool. There were people coming in and using it. The children would jump in where people would sit, even when asked politely not to. That was frustrating but overall wasn’t too bad. I would recommend it as long as they got rid of the cockroaches in one of the buildings.

Delivering a 5 star experience is a top priority for us and we would love the opportunity to address our shortcomings. Please feel free to call us anytime at (734) 457-4100. We take any issues with insects very seriously and contact exterminators right away. Thanks again for your recommendation and have a great day! - Park West Club Management
With rent for a one bedroom including the cable, and with all the apartments having a laundry room in each unit we were saving money (no laundrymat or cable service haggling); although the maintenance men are wonderful, the new women in the office are terrible. When we moved in there was lovely customer service, but for whatever reason new people came in and I have yet to have one reply (both call & email) Its a really quiet complex and we have wonderful neighbors thankfully.
