The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Park Merridy
For a student these apartments are very quiet! I enjoyed my year of living in these apartments and the management is also very helpful. Any problem you have they are very quick with responding back.
You definitely get what you pay for… CONS: - BUGS and other creatures!!!!! Crickets, roaches, bugs I have never even seen before, lizards, etc. somehow always make it into the building... which is NOT OKAY. Not sure if it is the other tenants' apartments, poor building design, the "greenery" in the parking lots -I am not a huge fan of the look and feel of the hallways (very dark, old, horror movie like) - Building design… the walls are THIN, I can hear my neighbor blasting music every morning, conversations at night, their TV through the vents. My windows are constantly shaking and making noise when the people upstairs are “walking” (I understand when living in an apartment, it will never be completely “quiet” however I have never had my windows shake from my upstairs neighbors walking… - AC is NOT centralized - Hallways are extremely stuffy and usually smell like weed - Doors: There is a lot of space from the bottom of the doors to the ground THUS letting in other smells and bugs in… - Parking lot spots are tandem and rather narrow, so you park pretty close to other cars - It is extremely dusty… I feel I need to dust every day and all my things are COVERED in dust regardless - The laundry room is very very old PROS: - ALMA is super sweet and the two-man maintenance team is kind and friendly. While management says there isn’t much they can do regarding the bugs and creatures *insert eye roll here*, they are relatively prompt in their responses regarding other maintenance requests/concerns (even if it is not what you were hoping for *ahem ahem the bugs!!!*) - They just installed a mini gym which does the job for the days I’m too lazy to make my way over to my gym - Location: close to CSUN, mall, grocery store, etc. - Compared to other places I’ve visited/lived, the street parking situation isn’t horrrrrrrrrible - For the price, the units are somewhat modern (I’ve seen other places that look very very very run down for way more than what I am paying here) All in all, I am okaaaaaaay with my living situation here. The only issue that I have is with the bugs INSIDE the complex and units. Then again, you definitely get what you pay for…
I lived in this building for a year and half and I highly recommend it to those who want to have a peaceful atmosphere and enjoy being with professional and caring staff. Alma and Lina do their best to make the tenants satisfied and at the same time they don't let anyone take improper advantage of their leniency and friendliness and disturb others. I recommended it to one of my friends who is still living there and she is very happy too. The maintenance guys are clean, professional and polite and if I hadn't bought a home I would never leave this place. Like any other places, it has some problems that are not under the control of management, like rude tenants who may make noise late at night or steal your package or ring your bell by mistake. but all these happen very rarely and in comparison with the calmness your experience it is nothing. As far as the security deposit is concerned they charged me about $200 which is totally reasonable and much less than what I heard other places charge you. They sent me the check in less than one week. They always checked with me if they wanted to come to my apartment and they never disturbed my privacy. I really enjoyed being close to all shopping centers (walking distance) and taking a walk in a safe beautiful surrounding while I was living in Park Merridy and I really miss those good memorable days.
I moved out 2 years ago. I left the place clean, so clean it was move in ready, minus a 4inch gash I left in the wall which I was sure they would subtract from my deposit. My move out day was a Sunday and was asked by the manager to just put the keys and my parking remote in the office drop box since they were closed on Sunday. I called a month later wondering what happened to my deposit and gave my new address. I never received anything back from them, phone call or mail. Not only did they keep my whole Deposit of $1000.00 plus dollars they have me in collections for $800 plus more. Good luck with these scammers
I recently moved into this apartment but honestly wish I didn't. Since I've moved into this apartment complex the landlord/janitorial staff has come into my apartment three times without giving me proper notice. If you want a place that doesn't just intrude on you, then please look for another apartment. I addressed this issue to the manager but she brushed me off.
Property Manager at Park Merridy, Responded To This Review
First, I want to thank you for sharing your feedback with us and I want to let you know we are always working on better serving our tenants. I always make sure we give proper notification to each tenant when service request is needed. We never enter any apartments without first letting each tenant know when we will be stopping by. I welcome you to stop by and visit my office so we could further discuss any concern you may. Again, thank you for your feed back.
Never order online, because this apartment has thief . Any box from post office will be disappeared no matter what. When you tell new management about this , they will suggest you to don't order anything online!!!!! Really? ??? New young man manager doesn't care at all. Definitely poor management, that is why we moved out!
Property Manager at Park Merridy, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. I would like to share with you that we have entire new team (staff) who is working very hard in servicing all our tenants and making this a pleasant stay. If your schedule permits come on by and meet the new staff and we could discuss any concerns you may have. Have a wonderful week!
This apartment is quiet and serene with a secure entrance and close to shopping. Since I am a recent graduate of CSUN, and do not yet have a full time job, the rent is great for a person just starting out and I can still be around my friends. There is an awesome pool, courtyard and BBQ area and the halls, stairs, laundry and elevator are kept very clean. You have an assigned parking space. The managers treat you like family and the maintenance techs are responsive and accommodating.
