Property Ratings at Park Lafayette Towers
We have lived at Park Lafayette for about six months, and while there are some positives, our overall experience has been extremely disappointing due to management and process issues. The Pros: The view is amazing. The location is convenient and central to everything we need. Fellow tenants and staff are friendly and welcoming. The Cons: Unfortunately, the day-to-day living experience has been marred by a lack of organization and responsiveness. Major Issues: The handling of a bed bug infestation has been nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we suspected the issue, the apartment complex’s response has been slow, negligent, and dismissive. After reporting the issue, it took days for anyone from the complex to respond, and only after we followed up multiple times. We arranged for a reputable pest control company to address the problem promptly, but the complex required us to use their vendor, who couldn’t treat the issue for 12 days from the time we reported it. When the vendor finally came, they did a poor job—leaving belongings unsealed and failing to remove eggs from our bedframe. Unsurprisingly, the bugs were not eradicated, and the issue persists. Despite further complaints, the complex has been unresponsive, leaving us to live with the problem and no resolution in sight. Minor Inconveniences: The trash chute frequently gets stuck. Elevators are often down or reserved, causing long wait times. We’ve experienced power outages and fire alarms going off in the middle of the night. The mail system is unreliable—sometimes we’re notified about packages, and other times we’re not. On multiple occasions, packages have been misplaced due to reception errors. It took two weeks for maintenance to address a faulty dryer. The internet was down for over two weeks (Internet is through the complex), which was a huge disruption as we work from home. This complex has great potential to be an amazing place to live. Unfortunately, my experience so far has been far from positive

We moved in in 2020 and it was great. In the last couple years it went downhill quickly. Living through the renovation was a nightmare. The concierge is often not present for package pickup. Maintenance requests went unanswered for weeks and management were apathetic to complaints/concerns. If you’re looking for luxury living on the east side, look elsewhere.

I moved into Park Lafayette because I adopted a dog and was not allowed to have dogs at my other place which is a few blocks away. It’s been great and extremely dog friendly. Apartments are concrete so you can’t even tell this building has other dogs in it by how quite things are. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for an upscale, dog-friendly, modern apartment.

I’m not a resident yet but soon to be. I just signed a lease a few weeks ago for an apartment on the 17th floor. Upon touring the property my experience was welcoming. When I arrived, The Property Manager, Intessar came out and introduced herself and talked about all the new and exciting renovations they are doing with the property. After speaking with her and gaining insight on the overall property, Kent - leasing consultant, showed me my unit and was knowledgeable about all the amenities, neighborhood and why this would be a good fit for me and my lifestyle. Overall, I’m excited. Both individuals I met already made me feel welcomed and "at-home". Can’t wait to join the Park Lafayette community and meet the rest of the community.

I recently moved into these apartments three months ago. I moved into the North Tower and my experience has been incredible since day one. The Property Manager seems to be extremely dedicated on ensuring the happiness of the residents here. The concierge service is great and delivers my Amazon packages straight to my door. I’ve met maintenance and although haven’t had to ask them for anything yet, I’ve interacted with a few of them and they seem great as well. So happy with my move!

We moved to Milwaukee in 2014, not knowing anything about the city. We had 5 priorities for a place to live: Pet friendly; a view of the lake; covered parking; hardwood floors; and a quality neighborhood. We came to The city for two days and looked everywhere to familiarize ourselves. After looking at another Mandel property, the manager told us point blank “Just go to Park Lafayette Towers. That’s what you want.” She was absolutely right. We first lived in the North Tower on the 20th floor in a one bedroom/den unit and loved everything about our apartment. But, after 3 years, we needed more space. We moved to a stunning two bedroom corner unit in the south tower and loved every minute there. Our apartment was first rate. Backing up the excellent facility is a professional, long-term staff, many who have been there during our entire stay. The General Manager, Katrina Lipman, was there our first visit and there when we left. She keeps the place running in all cylinders. The maintenance staff was excellent and we never suffered from any equipment inconvenience. And super dog friendly. My first dog there was … not so friendly ….. but I got another dog that wanted to be The Park Lafayette Mascot. Ultimately, getting him a yard and a place to play in the winter was our driving decision to leave our nest after 7 years. Park Lafayette Towers … we really loved our time there. You were the best part of our initial Milwaukee impression and remain a highlight for us. For anyone considering a new apartment in Milwaukee, this is the one. We hope you have the great experience we had.

And have appreciated every minute. The staff is outstanding, responsive and friendly, the building is lovely, security is excellent and the location is ideal -- working distance to everything I need and very close to public transportation, including direct access to the airport just two short blocks away. I especially appreciate how responsibly management has handled the coronavirus situation. Looking forward to the resumption of the social events the staff plan. I was really impressed with the safe creative alternatives they have come up with during the pandemic. A great place to live.

We lived at Park Lafayette for five and half years and by far my most favorite place to have lived in. The services are great, the people extremely personable and attentive and what a cool neighborhood. The Location is Everything. From great coffee places to Whole Foods, to many yoga and Pilates studios to fun restaurants all around, to a hospital for emergencies ... it just is the best place..The view from our 16th floor lake facing apartment is something I will always miss. Should you find yourself in Milwaukee and are looking for a great place to call home, look no further. You won’t regret it...Thank you Team PLT for making our lives so very wonderful. We have now lived at Park Lafayette Towers for four years. We were in a one bedroom den unit on the 20th floor for over three years and recently moved to a 2 bedroom apartment directly facing Lake Michigan. When we initially moved here, we had 5 requirements: Dog Friendly, View, Hardwood Floors, Gas Stove/Oven, and in-unit Washer and Drier. These apartment all have these amenities and more: marble tops in the kitchen with ample cabinets and storage space; generous closets; jacuzzis in every unit with nice glass showers as well, and double sinks in the bathroom; a well-kept public area for grilling and enjoying the weather outside; a small but well-kept gym; and a clean, well-lit garage.The amenities that no one tells you about are the services provided by the staff here. Becky, Samantha and Michael run the management office and are each responsive, friendly, and quick to solve any issues. The concierge team, led by Kia, is courteous and responsible, managing packages, dry cleaning and other items from 200 apartments and delivering all sorts of things to everyone without a mistake.Most of all, the best amenity at Park Lafayette Apartments is the crack engineering team. Rick, Tom and Brad are super fast with their responses and could not be nicer. They know everyones name, what anyone needs at any time, and work on a schedule that is convenient for the resident. They are also the cleanest workers I have ever had in my apartment, leaving no trace that they have been in, repaired a problem and gone other than a copy of a completed work order.We love our apartment and the feeling of being pampered. knowing that not only does our apartment bring us joy and feel like home, but the neighborhood is one of the few in the city where you can walk to restaurants, a movie, a coffee, or a cocktail all within about 5 minutes.

This is going to be a long one: trying my best to give the positives and negatives. I lived here for 15 months, 1 bedroom den, 1.5 bathroom, South tower, floor 18. Pros: - Nice finishes mostly, *gas* stove, stainless steel appliances, tile, hardwood floor, centralized hot water - Good location in general. Walking distance to a lot of things: the lake, to North, to Brady, Nice view! - Fast, prompt maintenance. Leasing agents were very professional and pleasant - Having a 24/7 concierge that delivers packages, calls you for deliveries, or just a quick chat while you’re waiting for an Uber - Quiet units - thick cement floors. Between units is the only sound I’ve heard (was resolved by talking to my neighbor) - Speaking of neighbors, 90% I’ve met are great, kind and respectful. - Super nice/fast elevators - Decent work out room and nice terrace area with grills. - They lock down the elevator for movers, nice hallway for them, & there is a no-parking/loading zone in front so there’s always room for quick deliveries. Cons: - Interior doors are pretty light, have a lot of gap. - parking spots are a bit cramped - makes sense to get to know your parking-neighbor so you can work out if you need to park differently. If you’re on the 4th floor of parking, might take you longer to snake out of the parking than to get to where you’re going - small washing machine and dryer. It’s been ‘filtered’, the dryer does vent into the apartment and not out. It’s not as bad as it sounds, but it does warm it up if you don’t keep the closet door closed. You have to clean out a condenser from time to time too, which I didn’t know at first. - No screens. Right above the trail is a mosquito / tiny-bug haven. If you don’t think they will fly 18 stories up, you’re wrong. It went in waves too - so the patio and walls would be covered with bugs, then 2 days later tons of dead bugs to sweep away. They spray, and some people handle this with plants peppermint oils, but I could never open my windows during bug season. And then one time I had a bird fly in through my patio door. So that was cool. - Facing S w/giant windows gets hot. The bedroom has darkening shades, but the main area has just regular shades. It gets so hot from the sun that I had to open windows during the winter regularly. When the temp hit 78 degrees, I would open windows. To clarify, I work from home, so I’m always around. If you work 9-5, you might never experience this.

Lake view living at it's best. Park Lafayette Towers consists of two buildings situated just steps from Lake Michigan. Floor to ceiling windows and a rooftop terrace. Underground heated parking along with 24 hour service. Panoramic views--Lake Michigan to the east and downtown Milwaukee to the North & West.
Have resided at Park Lafayette Towers for 4 years. My unit has views of the city to the west and views of the lake to the east. Love sitting on my balcony watching all of the activities on the lake, especially the Air & Water show. There are a lot of families here, yet it's very peaceful.
