Located on New Garden Road right near the entrance to Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and just across the street from the Brassfield shopping center, the Tannenbaum Historic Park offers residents of and visitors to New Garden a piece of American revolutionary history.

The park preserves a clapboard-faced log cabin built by members of the Joseph Hoskins family, which experienced the famous Battle of Guilford Courthouse on their farmlands in 1871.

At various points throughout the park, a forge, barn and kitchen recreate the farm as it stood during the battle. Interpretive panels accompanying each site tell the story of the farm and its role in the American Revolution.

The Colonial Heritage Center, on the same grounds, is a unique museum offering more captivating information about the battle.

For an even more interactive approach to the area's history, watch or even participate in the annual re-enactment of the battle in the park every spring.

Free public parking and plentiful parking lots in shopping centers provide means to enjoy the area for as long as you please at no cost.
