The peaceful city of Hamburg, New York is a quaint suburb of Buffalo, situated 14 miles south of Downtown. This city’s peaceful residential streets are filled with single-family homes and apartments, lined with pedestrian- and bike-friendly sidewalks and towering trees.
Locally-owned shops and restaurants reside in the city’s cozy commercial district. From burgers to coffee and wineries to pizzerias, this downtown district boasts a fantastic variety. However, even more delicious restaurants and shops are spread throughout town. See what all the talk is about and spend a night out at J.P. Fitzgerald’s, a lively Irish pub on Clark Street.
Though Hamburg is considered a suburb, it has quite a few dining, shopping, and entertainment options.

Property Ratings at Oakwood Apartments
I wad a resident for 1 year. But when you have neighbors that park in front of your garage and the property manager says oh well. And then the quality of property goes down. Plus having 2 large multi family structure fires in 2 buildings that turned fatal. I'm sorry but no. Move on. Plus they rose my rent to almost double from first year lease.
Maintenance and the landlord are nearly impossible to get a hold of. We've had MAJOR safety concerns and the landlord is non-responsive. Glad we're moving soon. This place is awful. 2 major structure fires in less than a year and I wouldn't be surprised if it's due to maintenance negligence. RUN do not walk from this place. It's horrible
Ironic how they continue to raise rent due to increased maintenance costs, yet I’ve never been compensated for the continuous maintenance I did for my apartment. Over the course of being at this location for several years, I can honestly say that I have grown as a person….. I’ve become quite handy, as I’ve had to learn how to repair various outdated appliances myself. I’ve fixed ovens, fridges, door frames, washers/dryers. I’ve vacuumed out the air system. In the winter, I’ve shoveled/salted the walkways after slipping and falling on ice. And in the summers I would regularly pick up cigarette butts and various items of garbage, so mine and other’s pets wouldn’t ingest the harmful materials. Aside from serving as a honorary property maintenance, myself and my wife served diligently as caretakers for the young children in our building, bringing multiple instances of domestic/child abuse to the attention of the landlord and law enforcement. We also worked unsuccessfully to preserve a calm and peaceful living environment. One that was free of drunken disorderly conduct, large dogs barking day and night and over the acceptable limit of “living noise” from neighbors. In my experience the property manager’s business model is to provide a standard of living that is inches above the bare minimum and charge as if you’re living in a NYC penthouse. But hey, at least the roof works… for the time being..
Loved the area and the convenience but maintenance was impossible to get ahold of, they stopped cleaning the common areas, and did nothing about disruptive tenants. If an appliance stops working you’ll get it fixed two weeks after you call if you’re lucky, usually they just don’t come. And last but certainly now least the property manager is a nightmare to deal with, as soon as she picks up she has an attitude with you every single time.

The property owner has too many buildings to keep up on things. Everything is outdated and people leave cigarette butts and dog poop in the grass. Old wallpaper, hallways and doors need painting and one buildings hallway wreaks of cat urine. Some tenants pile stuff on their patios and it looks awful
