Several still stand, including Black Point. One of the city's oldest mansions, Black Point dates back to 1887 and is open for tours. Lake Geneva is roughly an hour northwest of Chicago and about an hour southwest of Milwaukee.
Across from the beach, restaurants, outdoor cafes, and wine bars provide a scenic welcome to the downtown shopping district. This walkable district is filled with gift shops and boutiques along with unique destinations like Tristan Crist Magic Theatre and the Geneva Lake Museum.
