The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Newport
This is the third management company since I have been living here only concern I have is the complex is not children, friendly no place for them to play. we have more children living in the community now, they when I first moved here
The place looks like it is completely full of dry wall and cheap building structures. To up the pricing of the living here is to put in a 24hr gym and a router to make up the cheap appliances and the fact that the rooms have no fan nor lights (except the kitchen of course). Someone needs to say something about these apartments around Arizona, too expensive for poor areas is crazy.
I’ve lived here for 7 years and this is the worst not safe and infested with bugs and black mold
I've been living in this apartment complex since 2020 and last year we came under new management. As is common with gentrification, they have made surface level "upgrades" to make the outside of the apartment complex look nicer but have done nothing to address other pre-existing problems. They have also added in mandatory service fees for services we do not need or use (trash pickup and "Rent Plus", etc.), and there's no way to opt out of them (even after asking, they tell us no). For services like the trash pickup, they don't even come around to pick up our trash, so we still have to do it ourselves! We're essentially paying for a service we aren't getting. The neighborhood itself is also dangerous, and we hear guns firing and constant police activity. Neighbors also play music loudly until 2-3 am on the weekends while drinking and BBQing outside of their building. Just go somewhere else. The only reason we've stayed this long is because we haven't been able to find anything else that we can afford right now. As soon as we do, we're leaving though.
I have been living here since May of 2020 and I want to move out so bad it is just horrible here. The people in the front office don’t know what they are doing and the maintenance men are a joke, they didn’t even know how to fix a simple leak. It took us 5 times to complain to them to finally get a real professional out here to fix the issue. I could keep going on and on but I don’t have that much space left. Just trust me and don’t rent here. Save yourself the trouble my family and I have gone through.
Property Manager at Newport, Responded To This Review
we are disheartened to hear that your experience at our community has not met either of our expectations. We strive to give 5 star services in every situation, but we have fallen short and we apologize.
I went to just view the apartment and they expected me to leave my state ID and another form of identification in the office UNPROTECTED while we viewed the apartment. They require everyone has an id or they can’t go meaning children can’t go with you to view an apartment. Then they required that the ids are left ON A DESK in the office and won’t give it back to you until you get back from viewing it. The women in the office were absolutely insulting and talked down to those of us who went like we were some kind of idiot. I DO NOT recommend. I also overheard a conversation with a tenant and the desk woman and apparently she had issues with her apartment and the office REFUSED to help her. Only giving it a one star because it’s required. They don’t even deserve that.
Property Manager at Newport, Responded To This Review
we appreciate your genuine interest in our community and we apologize for any negative experiences you encountered during your visit. However, due to the nature of apartment hunting and the parties involved, you'll find that it's not uncommon for leasing teams to operate this way, especially in regards to taking down information of a prospective resident. In any event, we thank you for your time and feedback, and we wish you nothing but the best moving forward.
I've lived at Newport for almost a year now. In that time, I have never had an issue that was not resolved. I had decided that I wanted to move from my current apartment to something a little bigger and the staff at Newport made that very easy for me. They listened to my concerns and helped me choose the right size unit according to my needs and income. Sometimes, it's the little things that people do that matter most. Crystal, our apartment manager is always a friendly smiling face. She has went out of her way to help me several times. Even when her day was done, she still managed to help me after hours. Both ladies in the office are always friendly and never turn down a short conversation and a bit of a laugh. The maintenance here are courteous and cordial and take care of what is needed with punctuality. I feel that Newport Apartments is a great place to live. Of course you will always have a few bad apples, but I believe that they do their best in keeping this a safe and friendly environment and for that I appreciate them.
I’ve lived here since February. There have been break ins, drug squad here, horrible neighbors, poor management, etc. you walk outside and all you can smell is weed. The pool is closed almost half the summer due to disrespectful kids and families. I’ve had to move twice in the complex due to mold. The rent isn’t true as they add $50 for a washer and dryer. If someone would’ve warned me about this stuff I wouldn’t have rented here.
So, I have been living here for a year now and I have to admit, when I first arrived from Cleveland, I was very disappointed. The appliances are close to my age, and I am a Gen-Xer. I was reassured that they are in working order and that was accurate. They work but not well. I had to have the oven temp recalibrated. I had an issue with the dishwasher; it wasn't rinsing the dishes so the detergent was baked onto the dishes after drying. They said they fixed it which was about 6 months ago, but the darn thing has continued to not rinse the dishes. Now granted, I have not complained about it since the first time, but I will be soon because I am tired of hand washing my dishes. All the appliances are Hotpoint. The junk brand found in old complexes. I was told that they plan on adding washers and dryers to each unit over the next year and a half by taking the space from the walk-in closet. Are you kidding me? That is the most precious space of any apartment. The walk-in closet is a good size now but will be the size of shoe box once this "upgrade" is complete. For the most part, the complex is quiet or I'm not around if trouble happens. No problems with bugs or pests so that's a definite plus! They do nickel and dime you on everything. They charge a $5 fee to figure out my share of the complex's water/trash bill and to mail me that postcard. I totally overpay on the water/trash because I have a 2 bdrm and I am the only person in the unit. I don't use ANYWHERE near the same amount of water a small family of 3 or 4 would use that live in a 2 bdrm sized apartment, but that's just the way it is.
