Morristown is a fairly small city positioned about forty miles northeast of Knoxville just off of Interstate 81. The city’s rich history is packed with stories that have formed the local identity: legendary frontiersman Davy Crockett spent his formative years in and around Morristown, and the surrounding area saw numerous skirmishes during the Civil War.
Downtown Morristown is packed with beautifully preserved historic buildings and features a unique double-decker sidewalk system connecting all the second-floor businesses along Main Street, forming a complex known as the Skymart. Locals enjoy ample opportunities to spend quality time outdoors, from golfing at The Country Club to relaxing by the reservoir at Panther Creek State Park to hiking and camping in the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
