This complex wreaks of weed all the time, no matter how hard you keep your door and windows closed, it will still smell weed! The grounds are littered with dog poop and trash bins are always overflowing. We lost so many packages here because tenants steals other people’s packages and the management won’t do anything about these problems. Can’t wait for our lease to be over.

Perfect Place!

I moved in 2 months ago and me and my daughter both love this complex. The rooms are very spacious, and maintenance was prompt to fix any problems. We can hear our neighbors sometimes, but nothing that keeps us up at night. No complaints !

RUDE STAFF

I just called Montclair to inquire about an apartment and the guy I spoke with (I believe his name starts with A) was very rude and short with me. He wouldn’t even let me finish my sentences, and was quick to place blame (in a situation where we weren’t even arguing who’s at fault) this is very appalling. There’s plenty of reviews online about their staff’s attitude and it’s sad to see they’re not investing in any customer service training for these people. I’d hate to invest my money in this place to deal with rude staff…NOt a chance!!

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY

Please, do not waste your time and money on this complex! My roommate and I went to view the 2br/2bath unit, and liked it. We applied for an apartment, and were approved. We received a pdf document with our move-in date, which was 5/29/21. On that day, we were supposed to arrive at the leasing office with a certified check to receive our key. About two days prior to move-in, the leasing consultant, Jay, called us to inform us the unit was on the corner so the layout inside was a little different (the rooms were smaller.) He asked if we still wanted to move in, as if we had a choice (we had already hired movers) so of course we did. On the morning of May 29, 2021, we parked up our entire house in a moving van. Movers and family members were with us. We called the leasing office to confirm we were on the way. Jay told us, we were supposed to receive an email but the apartment wouldn't be really until June 3!!!! Mind you, we already paid movers and our whole house was packed up. We were forced to stay with a friend and leave all of our belongings in a U-Haul truck (which costs more money each day). Prior to June 3, the leasing manager, Sherman, told us the unit would still not be able on June 3 due to six teenagers busting the window to the apartment. He said he had NO IDEA WHEN WE WOULD BE ABLE TO MOVE IN. The only offer he made was a waived amenity fee (only $200). Due to the Montclair's unprofessionalism, we were forced to find a new apartment complex and had to pay over $1,000 in U-Haul fees because we were without a home for over 2 weeks thanks to the Montclair! Please, do not move here! Take your money and find an apartment complex with a professional and legit move-in process.

Perfect Apartment!

I was searching for an apartment for a little over three months.I went to every apartment complex in Montgomery County,but I just couldn't find the perfect apartment. I had very specific needs. Others would call me picky.. I needed two full baths, plenty of closet space with spacious bedrooms. Updated kitchens and bathrooms. I needed plenty of parking and I needed to be close to the dumpster. Most importantly all those needs had to be met for an reasonable price! Needless to say I viewed Montclair's floor plans online came over to see the apartment the very next day. I knew this was the one. I found my Perfect Apartment.

Prepare to LOSE SLEEP

So I've been living at this property for over two years now, and below are a list of pros and cons. CONS: 1. Rent from here if you want to hear stomping above your head all hours of the morning and the night. You could hear kids running up and down the stairs and playing above your head. The walls and ceilings are so thin you could hear your neighbors conversations and other R rated activities occurring. Plus, when you try to complain or inform the management about the noise complaints, expect not to receive any email or call back. The property manager, Barbara, that we did reach out to, was extremely nasty, rude and bigoted, and essentially told us to move out if we had complaints about the noise. 2. I also called management and left a voicemail and never heard back from them as well. The experience with management and the corporation has just been unprofessional and it displays that they do not value their residents. 3. The location is not the best if you need to be near a metro area with the closest metro being about 15-20 mins away via driving. You are also about 20 minutes from downtown Silver Spring and about 35-40 mins from D.C. without traffic. 4. Parking is ridiculous! There are hardly any parking spaces and more than likely you will need to either squeeze your car into a tight space or park on the street. Being a clinician, I sometimes do not get home until after 8 p.m., and always have to park on the side of the street and walk to my apartment building late at night. PROS: 1. The apartments inside are overall very nice and spacious. You do not hear your roommate on the other side of the apartment which is nice considering that you will definitely hear your neighbors upstairs and next to you. 2. Maintenance is very efficient upon your request. 3. Have not had any rodent or pests issues, there are just a lot of stray cats in the parking lots. Overall, I just think the cons outweigh the pros when it comes to dealing with management and not being able to get sleep because of the loud stomping above my head and hearing the next door neighbors.

A slice of heaven!!!

Since moving to Montclair Apartments I have felt like I have a slice of heaven. The location is ideal and peaceful. I work in DC and it only cost me $1.75 to get to work. The staff was very friendly and professional. What a way to recover from a horrific ordeal at another apartment complex. By far the most perfectEST place on the planet...honestly it really is. You get a BIG BANG for your buck!!! I STRONGLY & HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check it this slice of heaven for yourself.
