Monroeville Apartments at Birnam Wood

I talked to Dan and Cody the maintenance guys and they explained how the manager Tracey is two faced and will not budge on using expenses to fix the property. They also said there are roaches in the apartments and it's hard to rid them.

I have nothing but good things to say about living here Staff and Maintenance: They always help so fast! Everybody who works here goes above and beyond. They're such nice people Parking: Free parking anywhere, no covered parking Noise Level: Very quiet!! Similar noise levels to living in suburbia Monroeville Area: You're near the highway, library, a park, and any store you need Laundry: Card system. The main building has a machine that only takes cash to load your card. The washer and dryer both cost $2 a load. If you wash and dry 3 loads that is $12. The dryers give you 45 minutes but you have to remember to press start or the timer will just run down. The washers start automatically but the dryers have to be started. The dryers are not very strong Trash: There is a trash compactor behind the last buildings in the complex. Often times it is full but you can leave your bag if it is. There's no recycling or trash pickup Pool: Open after memorial day, the pool is fantastic and clean Gym: The gym is excellent, it has ellipticals, treadmills, a stair climbing machine, and lots of weight machines as well as free weights. They do not have a punching bag. There's a water cooler in the gym and televisions with remotes out in the open so you can change the TV to whatever you want. Remember to wipe your weights down, cleaning supplies are provided Business Center: There is a desktop PC and a printer in the main building you can use to connect to the internet, print, scan, copy, and fax things. I've brought my laptop down but I can't connect to the internet or find the printer on my personal computer. In order to print things you need to save them onto a flash drive and plug that into the PC, or upload them to a cloud sharing service and log into that on the PC. I tend to use the 2nd method and use a private browsing tab to log in to my accounts. The business center does not have any pens readily available Pets: There is a dog area you can let your pet hang out in Time into the city: 20-25 minutes Things to know about the apartments: Water: The drinking water in the PGH area has almost 3 times the lead of the Flint, Michigan contamination. You should buy a faucet filter Bathroom: HUGE bathtubs and nice sinks Kitchen: the dishwasher has low water pressure Walls are made of concrete meaning you cannot hang things! The concrete walls are nice in terms of noise Windows: Lots of natural light and they already have shutters but the screens are loose

The parking was very limited at night but over all it was very spacious it was the studio apartment the kitchen was huge there was a dressing room and a walk in closet I loved it but the price seemed too high for a studio but I only had to pay for electric so that was a good thing, but they also told me I had to pay $35 a month for water.There was a gym with about 5 cardio machines and a few weight training machines. maintenance was very fast when a problem occurred. The security deposit was returned in 30 days of the move out date but you cannot move out in the middle of the month which was a little inconvenient for me but overall I think it's a good place to live there is a high school right behind it so you can go to the track but the school buses can sometimes cause traffic. Good place would recommend

A wonder place to live! There are plenty of floor plan and pricing options to choose from and after a year you have to ability to transfer apartments easily if your situation changes. The maintenance guys are there in a flash if there's a problem and they're all professionals so everything get done the right way. There's a nice pool in a quiet setting, off leash dog park, gym and business center with a computer and fax. It's in a great location. My only complaint is that utilities can get kind of expensive, mostly in the summer.

This place is in a quite neighbourhood with nice neighbours. Place is spacious and clean and the Pool is clean. It's like a small village. Love it.
