Oxford, Mississippi, combines small-town living with rich cultural offerings, anchored by the University of Mississippi ("Ole Miss"). The historic downtown Square centers around the Lafayette County Courthouse, where local boutiques and restaurants share space with Square Books, a nationally recognized independent bookstore. One-bedroom apartments rent for an average of $1,110 per month, while two-bedroom homes average $1,710. Established neighborhoods include South Lamar district, Woodlawn, and West Oxford.
The city's literary legacy shines through Rowan Oak, the preserved home of Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner. Entertainment options include performances at the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts and concerts at the historic Lyric Theater, a renovated former livery stable. Outdoor recreation opportunities abound at Sardis Lake, while the Grove on the Ole Miss campus comes alive during football season.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Molly Barr
When I originally moved in, it wasn't bad. However, they made a lot of changes ranging from inconvenient to feeling downright malicious. When it came to parking, everybody had a numbered spot and visitors could park on any curb not near a hydrant. Now, there are no more than a dozen visitor spots for the entire complex, and you must reserve visitor parking during business hours no matter the time the visitor might come. I've never seen such bureaucracy at any other apartment complex, and it honestly feels like they did it just to give Bandit Towing more business. Bandit Towing is a good name for those bandits strolling through several times a day to just find a poor sap who made a mistake. I've even had people wait to pick me up, who have seen the tow trucks just watch and wait in the distance for them to park incorrectly. I wouldn't be surprised if the property management gets a cut of the $200 fees to go get your car back. Furthermore, each unit used to have to pay for utilities through Oxford Utilities and split the payment with their roommate. This wasn't too difficult of a situation. I was told this was being moved to payment through the complex itself for convenience. However, now my electric expenses have arbitrarily skyrocketed, and they charge each of you $5 convenience fees to split the bill for you. With this in mind, it's hard to say the staff are good. I've had good experiences, and a lot of them seem friendly enough. However, when the policies change to the point of insult, it's hard not to see them as fake. They don't even keep the door unlocked during business hours and expect you to just wait for 15 minutes to answer the office door when you have a visitor needing one of those silly passes for a 20-minute visit. Noise is relatively frequent, whether it be from the airport, the fire and police department, or your neighbors' cars with bass-boosted music. The grounds are covered in pet waste most of the time with numerous fire ant hills around in the summer. That's not even mentioning the dozens of stray cats living around your building. With the amount of attention they paid to the non-issues of parking and utilities, you'd think they would have been forthright in dealing with these issues, but no. The maintenance staff are pretty friendly, however. I've never had a bad experience with them. Overall, I would strongly recommend considering other living options.
Workers do not keep up with the premises (garbage, walkways, pests, lawn, gym, pool area) Office crew is off putting- manager can be extremely rude. Assistant manager is not much better. ABSOLUTELY NO VISITOR PARKING!!!! I would NOT recommend!
