Nice remodeled apartments. The property is clean with beautiful green areas. Almost 5 years renting there and I never had a problem. Manager Megan always supportive and helpful. Moved out only bec we got our house, but I definitely recommend the place if you need to rent. Alex M.
Awesome place to live, I am a pet lover and this beautiful place is like heaven for those who love and own pets. People are great, place is clean and friendly. The Manager is down to earth and a Great person to deal with. I love the location and the fact that, I have a safe place for my pets. If you are not a pet lover, I would recommend you look somewhere else.
It’s been over 5 months since my family moved in to this beautiful Community and we totally LOVE it. I used to live here 4 years ago under a different Management. What a difference The new management made !!!! The new management is caring, responsible, respectful and approachable at any time you need help. Just wanted to express my highest appreciation to the Management team for their hardwork , dedication and most importantly about caring for the residents and pets here. Thank you Valor and thank you Megan !!!!
The current manager Megan is so helpful. She is quick to respond, happy to help with any and all problems, and is proactive about community-wide issues. People are complaining on here about “changes” she’s made since she took over management, but actually much of what she is doing is enforcing policies that were promised to us by the previous management when we moved in (which the old manager ignored). Considering some of these policies (non smoking, family friendly noise hours, etc.) are what attracted us to this complex, I’m extremely grateful! If you want a smoking friendly complex where you can be loud whenever, perhaps this isn’t the place for you. ;)
I have lived in these apt for 4 months now and I love it. The Manager Megan is always helpful and friendly. The grounds are kept up and clean.
I have lived here for less than a year. Part of why I chose this place was the great reviews about the management and grounds. The management was kind and helpful and generally seemed to actually care to have you live here. Exactly a month after I moved in a new management company took over. Since then I have received approximately one note a month on my door including several policy changes (units changed to non smoking mid lease), parking policy changed (from unassigned to assigned and several people with more than one car now no longer have a spot), and rent was increased— mid lease on a year lease! This month I was told that patios would be “inspected” for storage items, trash (which I totally get) and “faded” patio furniture. It is beautiful here and pet friendly and will be sad to leave but I cannot abide these “big brother” tactics. Lots of people have moved out but people will always be right there to move in so who cares right? This management certainly doesn’t. Not one bit.
I've been living here for more than over a year, and even though it has a great location, there are many cons on this place. First and most annoying of all its the parking situation. There is no assigned parking, so if you are lucky you'll find parking, if you come home late at night do not even bother coming into the parking lot, you'll have to find parking on the streets near by (my car was broken into two times, notified management, they could care less). The so called "clubhouse" is useless, you cannot play loud music, drink, no certain amount of people and so on, plus the price just skyrocketed it went from 100 to 300 deposit. The jacuzzi is always broken and when its fixed, water is not even that hot; one light in the pool is been out for more than over year, and if you want to play tennis be ready to play 45 minutes only because once the lights go off, you'll have to wait another 45 minutes for the lights to turn on again. Management recently changed, hopefully they get it together, specially the parking situation. There is nothing more frustrating than coming home from a long day at work than having to park somewhere far away when there are residents occupying more than one space for the old car hidden under a blue tarp
I don't live here now. I lived here 34 years ago. I brought my newborn baby home to this place. It's as beautiful and well maintained now as it was back then. Perfectly located. We loved living here and only moved because of PCS military move. If I come home to La Mesa someday, I will move back here!!
The parking condition is horrible at this property. If you come back to home around 11:00 PM then you will find yourself in a difficult situation regarding parking your car. Management charge you for the parking permit but there is no guarantee that you will find parking. So, it is basically making money out of it. Property has given out the parking management to third party and that third party is very rude and not willing to help at all. When you call for help, they make you wait long hours and finally they don't show up. Upon calling them again, they don't answer the call. Secondly, the water bill comes in a big number because it comes in a common bill for an entire property. So it doesn't matter how much water you use on a daily basis. Property is clean but sometimes you find dog poop near your apartment and management don't bother to clean even. You will hear fire truck siren all the time.
My apartment complex is full of Greener, we have a tennis court, two pools, 1 Jacuzzi and a gym. The perfect place to call home. We also have a center where we can use the computers, hold parties at and feel at home. My apartment is near the freeway and i have access to all these stores. I can also have my 2 four legged kids with me. :) My apartment is the best hands down. Did i mention we have a washer and dryer on both sides of the complex? Yes truly a great place to live at. Aren't you jealous?
We have lived at our apartment for over 2 years. We love the area we live in. We found this apartment on Apartments.com. The area is perfect for us. Close to the freeway, very close to public transportation, close to downtown but i love the suburbs feeling. Thank you
Heatherwood apartments is based in the city of La Mesa, California. My wife and I have been living here for a little over a year. So far, our experience has been pretty pleasant. Heatherwood apartments is a pretty quiet and peaceful community. We don't have any loud neighbors. Other than the occasional sirens that pass by (Heatherwood is on a main street) you'll be pleased with the peaceful environment. The apartment homes are a tad bit outdated. The rooms have wall AC's and heaters. But the heating and cooling units do a great job with providing the room with the proper heat and coolness. The master bedrooms are very big; which my wife and I love! There are 2 big closets in the master room, so we don't have to fight over closet space. The overall comfort of the apartment homes are nice. The property managers are very friendly and are pretty diligent in ensuring your needs are met. Whenever we have an issue with the home, whether it be a blown light bulb, plumbing issue, etc., they usually fix the problem in 24 hours or less. That's a great turnaround considering how big the community is. And don't worry, we don't have problems occur often. Overall, the apartment homes are nice, peaceful and comfortable to live. Whether you're looking to live here for a year or long term, you'll be well pleased. I'd definitely recommend Heatherwood to anyone looking for an apartment in La Mesa.
We recently moved into these apartments and could not be happier! The unit we live in was just renovated and everything was clean, and I mean spotless when we moved in. Amenities include: two pools, a hot tub, tennis courts, laundry, and a gym. Basically everything we need in one spot. I should also mention that there is a security guard on the grounds at night. We are also close to many major highways and the train system as well as a shopping center and many other stores. Great staff as well! Perfect place!
