Don’t be surprised if you see an old-timey merchant ship sailing on the Christina River. No, you haven’t been transported back in time – you’re witnessing an evening cruise taking place on the Kalmar Nyckel. The ship was an important part of Downtown Wilmington’s history, as it was the vessel the founding Swedish settlers arrived on in 1638. Aboard the ship, you might be able to catch a glimpse of its resident boat cat.
Living in Downtown Wilmington, you’re surrounded by historic buildings and modern apartments. The area is bound by Interstate 95, MLK Jr. Boulevard, the Christina River, and Brandywine Creek, providing locals everything from easy commutes to natural landscapes. As you tour your new community, be sure to visit the Delaware History Museum, followed by a beer at the Constitution Yard in Riverfront. The Nomad Bar near Rodney Square offers cool jazz tunes every night of the week.
Renting in Downtown Wilmington, you’re near a plethora of gourmet eateries and city parks.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at MKT South
If I could rate zero stars, I would. BPG has truly been the worst landlord experience I have ever had. There are so many reasons to never rent a BPG property. First, they do not care about their tenants wellbeing or health. My AC broke May 18th and nearly two months later, it still is not fixed. Instead, they have given me replacement after replacement portable AC, which cannot keep the apartment cooler than 80 degrees in this heat. They blame the slow speed of getting the AC taken care of on outside contractors. Truly, I don’t believe a word they say. They are in no rush because it’s of no moment to them. They do the bare minimum to stave by what would legally be actionable conduct against them. Second, the maintenance is horrible. They are supposedly stretched thin but BPG can afford to staff more people, so why should tenants suffer because of BPG’s poor decision making. One time maintenance was by my apartment, they went through my personal belongings - digging through my closet, leaving it all strung out; and one of the men groomed themselves in my bathroom sink. I was beyond disgusted and troubled that maintenance would violate my privacy like that. That was enough for me to file a police report. Third, the locations (namely those on market and Shipley) are unsafe. I hear gunshots on a weekly basis. I am constantly harassed walking in/out of my apartment for money. No one at BPG accurately depicts how unsafe the area is. There’s a large homeless population here. A homeless person even made it inside of the “secure” apartment building once. If not inside, they sleep on the entrance door. BPG properties are definitely not places to have or raise children in. Bottom line, BPG only cares about making their money - not about their tenants wellbeing or health. My advice, rent anywhere but BPG.
