Central Tucson is a collection of neighborhoods that are home to some of Tucson’s major landmarks and destinations. Anchored by the Rillito River, Interstate 10, and Reid Park, this part of the city features historic homes built between 1920 and 1960 in varying architectural styles. Central Tucson has one of the city’s biggest commercial districts. Located along Wetmore Road, Tucson Mall houses major department stores, popular specialty brands, a painting studio, and a theater. Oracle Wetmore Shopping Center and Tucson Place next door offer even more options. Along with plentiful options for retail, there are also many restaurants available, from casual eats like frozen yogurt to upscale steakhouses. Entertainment venues in the area such as Funtasticks Family Fun Park add even more allure.
Along with this massive retail and dining hub, the University of Arizona, Tucson Botanical Gardens, and the Toy Train Operating Museum are located in Central Tucson.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
