Travel from Saint Louis, Missouri northeast along I-255 for roughly 26 miles and you’ll find the cozy suburb of Bethalto, Illinois. Bethalto dates back to 1804 when the first settler, Thomas Rattan, arrived. Soon, more settlers moved in. Originally Rattan’s Prairie, the name was changed to Bethel in 1834, the same name as a nearby church. When the village established a post office, they realized there was already a Bethel, Illinois, so they got creative. They borrowed letters of the neighboring town, Alton, and merged them with Bethel. Learn more about Bethalto’s history at the Bethalto Historical Museum, located in the original village hall built in 1873.
South of Bethalto Drive, much of the village is given to the St. Louis Regional Airport. The north side contains beautiful neighborhoods, a variety of shops, historic buildings along Main Street, Bethalto Park, and the Bethalto Arboretum. Bethalto Park includes a splash pad, a playground, and picnic areas.

Just don’t! please read your lease carefully. They will charge for fees that was not stated in lease. Then charge you for everything!
I loved it here!!! I lived here prior and had no issues. Maintenance was on top of everything, and any issues/concerns were dealt with quickly and accordingly! I moved due to unforeseen circumstances in my life but i can’t wait to move back! i highly recommend
Be careful what your getting yourself into. They are not transparent about their rules and prices. I was almost going to sign a lease and I notice a part where it says “Landlord hereby reserves the right to transfer Tenant to a similar unit within the complex for any reason by giving a 30-day notice.” I ask if they can remove that part, the answer was no. And they gave me a silly answer by saying just in case of fire, like they anticipated the fire to happen 30 days prior. All what I’m saying do your homework before giving them your information and wasting your time.
Typical 1 bedroom apartment. Busy area, lots of sirens and noise, you can hear absolutely everything. I appreciated the maintenance group and their promptness, the management was 50/50 on niceness. There is washer/dryer hookup which is unheard of, that was great! Parking was free and there was plenty of it. Pet friendly! Overall, it’s a decent place to temporarily live. Definitely didn’t want to stay long term due to the noise and being ground level made me feel unsafe, but that’s personal preference. Oh, and the AC/Heater is so loud that you have to understand you need to pause whatever you’re doing while it cycles lol. They can be sneaky about increasing your monthly costs, so keep an eye on that! And people can walk in whenever they want, for example maintenance and pest control… I hated this. They said they’d let you know in advance but there was a time where they sent a team at 0930 who started banging on my door and THEN sent a text stating they were coming at 0900… that’s not how letting someone know works… other times were better and they are under new management now so maybe it will be better. Bad communication seemed to be one particular person.. so who knows. Good luck in your pursuit!
Great property. They don’t bother you much. Excellent rates, maintenance ALWAYS respond within 24 hours, nice community. Highly recommend.
This apartments are extra with everything. The owners will watch your every move. Your car can’t be over 1 day expired because they will make a huge deal about it. They will stay and watch your dog poop and wait till you clean it up. They act like they are top of the line apartments but their maintenance sucks. My dishwasher broke and it took them 4 days to get back to me and it wasn’t even the weekend. I hate it here can’t wait till my lease is over don’t move here.
