Living in Kenosha combines lakefront beauty with city amenities. Located along Lake Michigan's southwestern shore, this Wisconsin city offers housing options from downtown apartments in historic buildings to newer communities in established neighborhoods. The waterfront area features HarborPark, where residents enjoy walking paths, museums, and the heritage streetcar system. The city maintains 74 public parks, including Petrifying Springs Park with its hiking trails and seasonal Biergarten. History and culture enthusiasts can explore four museums with Smithsonian affiliations. The rental market remains steady with average one-bedroom apartments at $1,210, showing a 0.6% increase over the past year, while two-bedroom units average $1,426.
Kenosha's location offers easy access to both Milwaukee and Chicago via the Metra commuter rail line, making it an excellent choice for commuters.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Meadowood Apartments
Talk about a management staff that truly does not care for their residents, this would be it! They tend to care more about the lawn and external property more than helping maintain the insides of the buildings. The maintenance is also very poor and takes longer than any other apartments that I've ever lived at for when you need something fixed inside the apartment; they, too, tend to focus on the outsides of the buildings and the landscaping, which doesn't even look as nice as the neighboring areas around the apartments. When you try and get the front office to put in a maintenance work order, it's almost like asking them to pull teeth. Aside from the management, the complex is filled with drugs. Without a doubt, you can find any illegal street drug that exists in this complex. I can recognize some of the cars that come in as probable drug users coming to pick up and leave right away, several times daily. Although I've never had any run-ins or issues with any of these users or dealers, it is clear as day what is going on and somewhat unnerving knowing that it is happening in your neighborhood/backyard, especially with so many young children living out here.. Also, there are always kids messing around. Within the last week, I witnessed local children from Meadowood Apartments steal a shopping cart from the local grocery store nearby and ram it into the curb of a nearby condominium complex to just leave it and run back to our apartment complex. Also, children recently stole a giant metal sign from the nearby gas station that said "INVIGORATE" on it and threw it over a large sewer grate in front of our complex next to the walking trail; it was there for over a week until city workers removed it (not our maintenance crew). The only thing that Meadowood Apts. has going for itself is location, and I'm afraid all of the other bad things combined will make the location seem meaningless. Management is sincerely rude; ask any honest non-management related resident and they will likely give a similar story. Trust me - avoid moving here at all costs! If you can find better budget-based apartments locally, please do yourself a favor and look elsewhere first! Hopefully, my family and I plans on getting out here by this coming spring season! Happy apartment searching (if you stay away from these ones)!
I have lived at Meadowoods for 8 years and I have seen nothing but a steady decline. The management are rude and do not care about the tenets at all. I live in a lower apartment. In the last 8 years I have had 4 neighbors live above me and everyone of them has been loud and disrespectful at all hours of the day and night. Management has done nothing about them. They say their policy is to contact them when there is a complaint and ask them to keep it down but can do nothing more til their lease is up. So if you have unruly neighbors you will be dealing with them for either the remainder of your lease or theirs. The maintenance is pitiful. There is garbage everywhere and the playground equipment is broken more than it works. The neighborhood kids are not supervised or controlled at all. They are wild and rambunctious with no respect for private property at all. My advice is to keep scrolling past this listing and save yourself from having to look for a new place to live when your lease ends. It is not worth the hassle.
Property Manager at Meadowood Apartments, Responded To This Review
Good afternoon, I wanted to take a moment and respond to your feedback. It is unfortunate that you feel our staff has not tried to help remedy your concerns. However, we have addressed your concerns every time you have contacted us. We have asked you to obtain any further documentation as well pertaining to these noise complaints which you have had on the past 3 residents that have occupied the apartment above you over the last several years. We have not been able to determine any noise level beyond or above normal apartment living. I personally visit the property regularly. I have noticed on occasion that some residents tend to place their garbage outside the dumpsters. However, our excellent staff is quick to place the garbage properly in the receptacle. It is very important to us to maintain a clean and beautiful property that our residents can take abundance pride in. The property has never looked better and I would invite any passers by to come see for themselves just how beautiful Meadowood Apartments are. We wish we could have made your stay more enjoyable and wish you well in your new home! Sincerely, Stacey - Regional Manager
I have lived in Meadowood Apartments for just over two years. Like every home, there are pros and cons to it. In this case, I feel there are more pros, than cons. Pros: -24 hour emergency maintenance -Very helpful and friendly staff -Two playgrounds on premises for children to play -Convenient school bus pick up on premises for elementary school (elementary school is Somers Elementary, and I HIGHLY recommend it) -Grounds are kept nice and clean -Washer and dryer on each floor of every building, meaning only sharing with three other families on your floor. -Buildings are secured -Management is on top of things. If there is a problem, they get to it as soon as they, which is very quickly. -Maintenance is very knowledgeable and skilled. -Lots of young families! My kids have made so many friends. -Although there are many young families, management is very strict with children playing in the halls. They want all residents to be able to live peacefully here. -Spacey apartments! Walk in closet in master bedroom. Pantry off to the side of the kitchen. -They allow grills! -Up to two cats allowed, with deposit. -A library and fire department is just on the other side of the road! Cons: -Walls are thin. It's pretty easy to hear my neighbors. -A load of laundry is about $3 a load. -Pet security deposit is high. -No patio or balcony. Living in Meadowood has mostly been a joy. Rent is affordable. There is enough space for my family. We are located in a good area. The only reason we will be moving out in the future, is because we eventually want to own a home!
