Property Ratings at Marlboro Classic Apt & Redwood Square
Just a few of the issues i’ve had (apt 2-303) 1. i had a moisture issue in my closets since i moved in, excess water that caused all my clothing to get damp and moldy in the closet. i brought this up to management and the property manager personally inspected and said it’s “unlike anything i’ve ever seen before.” the inspection was done in april and i was told the person they have to fix it was on vacation every time i’ve asked (it’s been 5 months), i've offered to show medical records indicating that this is not safe but continued to get ignored. 2. rats in the walls in july 2025, also entering some apartment buildings. they put a few people in hotels luckily. i had one in my shower and didn’t get a response until after the weekend (reported on a friday morning) 3. rats ate through my engine wiring harness in the parking lot, then 2 days after i got it back from the shop they ate through my transmission wiring harness. cost me $3,500 total. in 2023 someone broke into 16 cars in the other parking lot & they “fixed” the gate with zip ties 4. numerous packages have been stolen from my front door, a ring camera is not stopping people. 4 police reports since moving in. i just recently had one stolen and management will not either check the camera to see who took it, or at least answer me on if the camera in the lobby works 5. the armed security guard sleeps in his car most of the night (that is what i’ve heard). my bf has been there for almost 3 years, neither of us have ever seen any security. and when there are parties in the community room people crack the door open in the front and leave the whole building at risk. we’ve had episodes of finding homeless people in here on more than one occasion, being a single woman living here is absolutely terrifying when this happens 6. my puppy was attacked and sent to the emergency room for stitches by 2 dogs who live in the complex 8. as of lately there is an INSANE fruit fly problem, i was cleaning dead ones out of my fridge and freezer daily not a complaint, but just an FYI- the walls are paper thin, i could literally hear my neighbor humming if sucks because the apartment itself is absolutely beautiful, and staff is so super nice. maintenance was always absolutely wonderful and surprisingly very responsive and timely. my door came off the hinges and the window literally fell out of the wall, but it was fixed the day after i put in tickets.
Rat infestation. Me and my neighbor that lives 4 floors above me have both been displaced for going on two weeks. Company isn’t doing anything. Contractor stole out of my house! Do not move here
2 of the best years of my life were at this apartment . Location Location Location was key when it came to ordering food and or just walking a couple blocks to a decent restaurant . If you have any personal problems like getting your carpet cleaned and steamed they will do it for you within a reasonable time. They get back with you almost instantly with any problems . I love and will forever miss it here , leaving with my eternal shame of having to go.
Marlboro Classic and Redwood Square is a catch for those who want to live in the heart of Baltimore. Let me list some of the perks of residing here: 1. The staff is AMAZING. Whether you're looking for an apartment with a view, or needing assistance with an issue in your apartment, they are always more than happy to help. If you're coming to visit for the first time, you could just walk in - no appointments necessary. If they have any available apartments, they will gladly show it to you. 2. There's an added bonus if you're a professional or a student that goes to University of Maryland, Baltimore, or work for the hospital. They will waive your application fee, put you on the VIP list (meaning that if you chose to sign up and there's an availability, they will contact you first instead of those that aren't in the VIP), and waive your deposit. 3. They have different buildings, each with different layouts. Marlboro Classic is called 'classic' because it's not renovated - meaning no new kitchen tops, and bathroom tiles. Redwood, meanwhile, is renovated. You could choose where you want to live if there are any availabilities. (I live in Classic - it has HIGH ceilings and exposed bricks. Makes the place roomier) 4. If you have any apartment-related emergencies (i.e., AC not working, toilet clogged, etc.) in the middle of the night, they have an on-call technician that can fix it for you ASAP. However, if it's not an emergency (i.e, microwave not working), they will get back to you within 24-48 hours. 5. The apartment is walking distance (meaning 15 minutes or less) from University of Maryland school and hospital, inner harbor, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and M&T Bank Stadium just to name a few. 6. You can paint your apartment, hang things up on the wall, and really make it your home. (I was told you don't have to patch up the wall after you move out. However, you're going to have to paint it back to white - so you might need to patch it up anyway if you paint over it) Here's some of the negatives: 1. It is right in the middle of the city so it could be noisy sometimes at night. Also, since it's very close to the hospital and a firehouse, ambulances and fire trucks blaring their sirens are a common occurrence. If you are a light sleeper, take note of this! 2. Parking is expensive! The cheapest option they offer is parking in an open lot for $125 a month. There is another option to park at a garage, but of course that's more expensive.
With over 100 different floor plans you will definitely have a space that unique to call your own. They have a buzz in door for security and also a rooftop and gym located in the sister building. Right by the baseball stadium and near plenty of food places. The management team is very understanding and will to work with you and get you all situated , great response on things that need to be fixed.
