Round Rock is a vibrant suburb within 20 minutes’ driving distance of eclectic neighboring Austin. Round Rock is a rapidly growing suburb for good reason, boasting numerous tech offices, recreational venues, shops, restaurants, and apartments within its city limits.

Property Ratings at MAA Round Rock
Unless you're willing to pay prices that are way too expensive for the size and location, I would not rent here. They only care about being superficial. Selectively enforce property rules. They don't clean any part of the complex that doesn't face the main road. Will come to "fix" stuff, depending on what the item is, or will tell you that there is a part that needs to be ordered and never return. Won't work with you if you have an emergency come up, and you have to pay later than the 3rd day of the month (they will still file for eviction even after you tell them). They don't listen to actual requests. "Market" prices. They'll raise your renewal every year.

In my early apartment search, I could not find a staff as prepared and ready to help me move in as much as the staff of Colonial Grand at round rock. They are so friendly and welcoming off the bat and are responsive to anything almost immediately. I had a minor issue and after emailing for their aid, they had come to fix the issue not even 10 minutes later! Kindness and hard work is fully strong at this apartment & staff.

I’ve been living at this complex for over a year and recently renewed my lease despite increasing rent in this area. I have moved around a lot and this place is by far the most pleasant experience. In part due to HEB+ being a 5 minute walk, quiet and polite neighbors, very pretty pool area, but mainly the staff here makes it feel like home. Especially Mrs. Jackie at the front office. I have been pleasantly surprised on a number of occasions when it was quite busy at the office when I came in with a minor request; despite been preoccupied, she always notices that I stop by and finds time to address my concern without delay. I have recently misplaced my gym keys and thought I’d have to pay for replacement set to use until I find the original set, Mrs Jackie got me a spare in no time, saving me time and money. Mrs Jackie and Jennifer at the office are both great at their job and never left my requests unattended, they follow up through email or by calling me for important reminders. The maintenance is prompt at responding as well, I’ve even had them come out on a late Friday night when my alarm battery wouldn’t stop beeping. I thought with it being late and a weekend, I’d have to go get a ladder and replace it myself, but they didn’t make me wait long at all and saved me all the trouble. I was also pleasantly surprised when the office rewarded me by adding credit to my bill for decorating my balcony with plants.

The trash situation is out of control. Garage bags everywhere. Management needs to be changed, they are incompetent. Soon we’ll have rats and raccoons infesting the complex.

I have lived here for almost 2 years and find my experience to be ok. It definitely has pros and cons. Pros are that we have a lot of space and we can get what we need fixed fairly quick. I also like that the landscaping is always nicely done. The staff at the front desk is amicable. As far as cons, I think it is so unsanitary to have the trash so full and overflowing out into the sidewalk all the time. It makes the complex look very dirty and unkempt. The walls are also very thing but that is neither here or there since it is afterall an apartment complex. The trees by the driveways are very inconvenient because not only is my car covered in bird feces, but there are some type of nuts that constantly fall on the vehicle and I just have to hope that it does not cause damage. Last but not least, I disagree with the fact that the complex will increase the rent even after paying everything on time and minding our own business. This is the only reason I would definitely not stay.
Extra charges for things I don?t use. My dishwasher has never worked
Our experience with the property has been quiet a majority of the time. We know most of our neighbors and have friends all along our side of the property. The property is maintained well, and they respond very quickly to service requests. I can also say I appreciate the electronic rental payment, as it is easier than having to drop off a check once a month.

Nice complex and never had any real issues but trash compactor always full and trash left everywhere on staircase
Living here is great. Only drawbacks for us are parking can be a challenge at times, and the trash piling up at the compactor is an embarrassment.
Overall, fantastic. The office staff is incredible kind and helpful. The property manager Rachel is one of the best! Between the office staff and maintenance, any issue you have is resolved as soon as humanly possible. The walls are thin, but neighbors are pretty quiet and respectful. Rarely any pest problems. Pest is out every Monday. Grounds are kept clean.
Colonial Grand at Round Rcock is a quiet apartment community nestled between Round Rock and Hutto. It is conveniently located for those who work in either of those areas. A grocery store, a great public library and excellent school districts are located within a ten mile radius.
Living here is not bad but would be a lot nicer if management would enforce the restrictions in the lease. All pets are to be on leash, ignored. Pet owners are to clean up after pets, ignored.

I have lived at Colonial Grand @ Round Rock for almost 12 years. The staff people working here are excellent, both the Administrative staff and the maintenance staff. The maintenance staff is very, very good. If you have a problem they will take care of it promptly and efficiently. The location of the complex is close to anything you would want. If anyone is thinking of relocating to the Round Rock area you should certainly look at this complex first.

The apartment complex and units are nice and very well maintained. I love the landscaping and walking home to a variety of flowers for most of the year. The office staff are always kind and helpful. Maintenance issues in my unit have always been addressed quickly and easily. The only complaint I have is that the dumpster (trash compactor) fills up and trash ends up in a pile outside of it. I'd be fine paying a little extra for a garbage fee to have more pickups to prevent this.
Accessible to many places to eat out and shop by walking or bike riding. Easy access to interstate 35 and toll roads to Austin, San Antonio, Waco and Dallas areas. Building and ground areas are well kept with spacious parking. Maintenance staff is courteous, fast and excellent workers. The office staff is friendly and professional. Ages range of tenants varies yet the overall atmosphere is like being in a safe and friendly housing complex.
Very comfortable place to live. All black appliances and updated. Very close to HEB and a couple miles away from I 35. Staff is very friendly and maintenance request are completed the same day.

Your lease will go up $100 every new lease. They charge you an extra $50 on top of your rent for using a website they force you to use. Parking is awful. The pool & surrounding area is always dirty. No one cleans up after their dogs. The office staff is completely incompetent. The trash compactor is always broken. Maintenance is great. I don't suggest living here long term as we have.
First off, the rent is ridiculous (which includes fees) for such a small space. Also, there is no drop box so if you choose not to pay rent online (which could take days), you need to be sure to go while the office is open. But, you have a couple days after the first to pay. The up side, out of all the apartments I've lived in, this place is the best. I have 1 neighbor and I can hear them every now and then but it's not bothersome. They're updating the community (repainting buildings & repaving parking lot) which is a plus. Neighbors seem to mind their own business and it's a quiet community which is nice. I would recommend this place despite the rent.
