At Rivers Walk , they are constantly closing the pool. Never on a weekday but on the weekend. Totally ridiculous. Tenants bring glass to the pool , which is against the rules. Instead of fining them and evicting them, Rivers Walk closes it for “clean up”. I live near the pool and have never seen a clean up and draining take place. There are cameras , they could catch them immediately, but they choose to punish the many for The few who feel entitled not to follow the rules.

They raised rent every year by a substantial amount. The rent from year 1 to year 3 was 700 - 800 dollars increase which is crazy. They kept a lot of money on moving out (carpet cleaning, de-odorizing removing food odors and many things that I have not had to face at any other apartment complex I have lived at before). The moving out cost was about 200 to 300 dollars which is steep comparing moving out cost from other apartments I have lived at (0 to 90 dollars). Apartments were tiny. A lot of dogs there as it is pet friendly. I am allergic to dogs and did not realize that it is pet friendly. Overall very overpriced for what it is. Had a balcony but did not use it due to mosquitos/ bugs and overgrown trees with branches hanging in my balcony.

We have been living at Rivers Walk for 3 months and have had a wonderful expereince. The location is so convenient, the staff has been available whenever needed and the complex is perfect for the two of us. We love the pool and walks in the early morning/evening. After living downtown for 2 years, we are so pleased with the space after moving to the other side of the bridge.

These apartments are put together incredibly low grade. The quality of the appliances are suitable for a dorm room not a “luxury apartment”. They are tiny. You can hear EVERYTHING in all surrounding apartments. I can hear the neighbor above’s cell phone vibrate each morning when the alarm goes off. Foot steps above make the walls shake. No exaggeration. Parking is an absolute joke. Each residents car is issued a generic parking sticker. There’s no enforcement for non residents parking in residents spots. They also do not enforce handicapped spaces and there are always cars parked illegally. That Does not leave enough spaces for residents. The office staff suggests to park in a far off auxiliary lot that takes you through several dark and poorly lit parking lots at night to get to your apartment. It’s not safe. Should you park on a curb close to your actual apartment if it’s raining or you have bags, they will tow you. Finally, the office staff is ever rotating. The staff that has endured the longest is beyond rude and unprofessional. They are discourteous. No one in the front office has the tenants best interest ever. I strongly recommend against these apartments even short term.

Stress-free, everyone is very friendly and helpful. Neighbors are all very pleasant. Living spaces and amenities are all nice and well maintained.
I love living at Rivers Walk! There are so many great amenities and the property is well taken care of.
The gym could be a little nicer compared to the other gyms in the area. But the apartments are nice, the maintenance team and office staff is great, and overall I don't have anything bad to say about it! They seem to jump on issues pretty quickly and get them taken care of. More events for the residents would be cool.
I absolutely love living at rivers walk. This complex is gorgeous and I have no no issues since moving in in July 2018. The front office staff are great, and so friendly. The grounds are beautiful along with the pool and gym. The apartments are modern and clean. The location is ideal. So close to downtown, Shem creek and all mount pleasant has to offer. I would recommend this place to all of my friends.
Apartment complex is well maintained, quiet, and the maintenance staff promptly repair any issues reported. Parking is an issue, there are full car spaces being taken up by motorcycles in an already limited parking situation. The leasing office regularly sends emails about not allowing parking on the curb, yet leaves a dumpster taking up 5-6 spaces for a week. The people living there are generally nice. Again, the property and buildings are well maintained, the apartment themselves are nice and quiet. I am generally satisfied with my experience, however the parking is becoming an increasingly frustrating issue and while I do not know the solution, I know isn't sending snooty emails, putting new parking 1/4 mile away, and suggesting having a guest park off site.

I think the Apartment and staff are great.
My biggest fear about moving from NY to SC was stepping on palmetto bugs on my walk from the bedroom to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Not only has that never happened but I have only seen a handful of them over the last couple of months and they have all been dead.
I enjoy living at River's Walk. The location is great. The amenities are nice and well kept. Overall the complex is quiet and respectful.
It is a wonderful place to live with nice residents. Being dog friendly, my little one loves meeting friends on our walks. The apartments are amazing with exceptional, quick service repairs when needed.
Overall good, but things take too long around the community to get fixed for example exterior lights and the speakers to the pool. They stopped doing little things like having food trucks come with no communication about why.
Nice apartments and perfect location. Living on the second floor apartment is difficult at times as I can constantly hear the (rather loud on occasion) footsteps and noise from the apartment above me. Also parking can be tight at times especially later in the evenings. Aside from those things, it has been a great living experience at Rivers Walk.
... The positive Rivers Walk reviews must be coming from the 1000's of MAA employees. The negative views are spot on. You will notice the phony responses from management. The fact that they play dumb to the many, many resident complaints should be a clue. It is a pretty complex and that is the ONLY positive I give it. Everything is cheap. Walls are like cracker jack box. You will hear every noise your neighbor makes. Every step they take. Very loud here. A lot of door slamming. Like living in barracks . Except the barracks were quiter. Poor service.

Good luck finding a spot if you live here and come home after 8pm though. There are literally 0 spots. Six months ago they decided to implement parking permits....except it's not enforced. Most of the parking lot is cars that don't live here. And if a resident decides to park on a curb because there is no other option? They tow you. Their solution is to park in another neighborhood down the road. Do not move here unless you like paying too much money and walking.

I have lived in this apartment complex now for almost a year. Very bad mistake. I figured that with the decently high rent that I would not be able to hear the tenant above me walking around all day and night but that was not the case. I could hear every foot step. Even the shower turning on when I was in my own bedroom. The one thing that has turned me off, as well as other residents, is the rude, snooty and unfriendly nature of the staff in the office. They will look for any reason to fine their tenants for the smallest things regardless of the situation. After speaking with Ashley one of the assistant mangers about a small fine, that she was not going to wave regardless of the situation, I am now certain that I cant wait to leave this apartment complex. They will suck you in and act all nice but once you sign that contract beware. I have many friends that live in this apartment complex that all say the same thing and will also be leaving once their contract is up. Overall rating: 1/2 star

Management is great...as long as you don't need anything. For as much as residents spend here, I expect a much higher level of service. The grounds are nice, but some of the staff ruin it.
I lived in two different floor plans at the apartment complex a one and a two bedroom apartment. I was the first tenant in my one bedroom as they we're still under construction of other building when I moved in. It was a great price and great location. Nice size studio with great apartment fretures. The two bedroom I lived in the next year was a different story however, in my time of living there the staff at the office had changed and wasn't as helpful or nice as the last staff.There is also a huge parking problems with this community. I was told if there was no available parking I would have to park in a whole other apartment complex and walk to The actual one I'm living in. Before I was told this I parked near a curb one night not obstructing anything and got a notice that I would be booted or towed at my own expense. Once I brought to their attention I work late nights in the food and beverage industry. I was told by the staff this was mainly a 9-5 community and my parking issues were not their problem. I'm not looking for special treatment but possibly issue some type of parking passes or something to residents and make sure you have enough parking for all. All in all its a great location for downtown and the surrounding area, great amenities but parking needs attention as well as the staff members.
