Property Ratings at MAA Lake Nona
•There was no gate to the community, pantry in our apartment, or wired intrusion alarm (we were told there would be). •The unit was filthy when we moved in. •We were told this was a smoke-free community. Despite continuously reporting neighbors with video evidence, the neighbors still smoked. •We were also told there would be a car wash and vacuum station. Once installed, you had to pay extra to use it, and it was often broken. •You are required to pay an MAA-connect fee and a separate amenities fee (monthly). However, spectrum wifi is shared, so it did not work for several hours a day, the gym equipment was always broken, and the pool was always disgusting. •Our neighbors frequently had parties with fireworks that would hit my window. •We requested a garage when we moved in (two years ago) and never were given one. •Several parts of the lease I had to get them to correct. •The trash would often be left in our container and never picked up (not on holidays, and we waited over a week). •Our windows would never stay open (constantly closing on themselves). •Our vehicles were broken into (by smashing windows) multiple times, so the fact that they only have cameras over the amenities is an issue. When I called about this to corporate, I was told safety is not their job. Despite having “security,” when security is called, it takes them a long time to get there. •Many packages were stolen, and many unwanted visitors arrived at our apartment. At one point, I had to get the police there because two men in hoodies would not stop trying to enter my apartment. When I told the front office about our issues, they took months to respond (once I provided a maintenance review). •Despite me telling the maintenance man, Pedro, that I was allergic to bleach and to please not use it, he poured it down my sink and on my dishes. Other than Pedro, all other maintenance staff are great. •The paint began to fall off the walls, literally. Visually, whoever kept up the apartments did a terrible job. The paint was full of layers. The toilet, windows, and just about everything had paint on it. •The smell outside was often of roadkill. •We would get non-stop emails about ensuring we paid, even though we had already paid. •Any sort of large work being done on the property was given minimal notice (less than a week). •Rules in the lease are constantly violated •Management says, “We would like to discuss this with you” in reviews, but never does

We have had nothing but issues since moving in first issue we’ve had was with the valet trash they always did not take our trash because raccoons kept on getting into it and refuse to fix the issue other people in the complex had the same issue. Second our carpet master bedroom closet started getting soaking wet water is coming from the sidewall and they did absolutely nothing about it and kept on saying that it was our fault and it’s because we are using our master bedroom bathroom and refuse to actually do anything about it except for give us a blower and a dehumidifier to get the smell out which never work. We are about to move out of this apartment and this problem is still not fixed it’s been going on since September. And finally they decided to raise our rent almost $1500 which is almost double than what we paid the first time we moved here. Please don’t move here. I promise you there is better options in Lake Nona.

the service has been the worst in all the condos located in Lake nona. They charge per application and then they are not responsible for returning the money if they do not apply, in addition to that they lie about the availability of their apartments. The manager and his staff provide horrible service. management does not enforce any rules in the contract. Management failed to meet our needs for almost 2 years. In all honesty this is the worst option in Lake Nona, please do not choose this place to live

Recently we have moved to this property, even it was late Amy, Brandy accompanied us and spent time with us and explained all our questions about community, schools, policies etc - and we signed on that day itself. We loved the community very much, my kids also enjoying a lot in play area and swimming, lake view. Its right in the center - walkable distance for most of essentials. Maintenance also the team made it quickly. Appreciate a lot for support from Amy, Brandy and Pedro
Had a wonderful time touring with Amy! The community was beautifully maintained and the staff in the office were so courteous and inviting. I will definitely be filling out my application and making MAA Lake Nona my new home!

Property is dirty, management does not enforce any rules in contract. We are moving out at the end of this month and can't wait to get out. Management failed to meet our needs for nearly 2 years. Maintenance is inexperienced!

The girls in the office are amazing. I have had nothing but great experience. I have had friends who have moved out and have been charged but for fair things so I can only imagine that if this guy is being charged it’s probably because his apartment was disgusting

When I moved out, I paid retreat at lake nona to clean the carpets, instead they replaced the carpets and are trying to charge me $551.00 for carpet damage. I was NEVER told the carpets would be replaced, or that they needed to be replaced. I was never given any proof that Retreat at Lake Nona even cleaned the carpets, I asked for pictures of the carpets after they were cleaned and none were provided. I asked for a receipt from their 'in-house" cleaning service as to what day the carpets were cleaned or any proof that they were cleaned, and none has been provided. There was no carpet damage, and they never gave me proof of cleaning the carpets. I have had to contact the BBB and Orange County Consumer Protection to investigate this claim.

The Retreat is a nice apartment community in the Heart of Lake Nona, just minutes from the airport, world class theme parks, and highways connecting you to East and Central Florida. The units are nice and renovated, no more noise than usual, and competitively priced for the area.
Close to 417 and 528, medical city and many shopes nearby
I have lived at Retreat at Lake Nona for six years and it has been a good experience. When I need something to be fixed it is done that day and done well. The grounds are kept clean and all of the grass and trees are kept well maintained.
Apartments are well appointed. The location is well kept and clean. I love that it feels safe and family oriented. The only con, is that I feel like I have to be in pins and needles all the time. Having 3 children it doesnt seem fair to pay rent and have them restricted. The management staff responds to television noise complaints at 5pm which seems petty to me. They should not be feeding in to those complaints during normal hours. They must respect everyone's rights equally. Finally their attitude is pretty much "it is what it is". Management does not take the time to empathize with all. I figure since I'm new here my opinion is not valid.

The property is fairly quiet and residents keep to themselves mostly. Only downside is that it is not a gated community.
Segurit quiet beutiful
I've lived at Retreat at Lake Nona for six years. It is a lovely property. They mow each week and keep the grounds clean. Yesterday I needed something fixed and sent in a work order at 1pm and it was fixed by 3pm. I've had great experiences with the service from those who fix things. I am a single female living alone, and I feel safe going in and out of my apartment, going to get mail and walking around the complex. I see kids playing and it seems that they feel safe as well. I love the location that allows me to walk to the grocery store, Dentist, Dr. nail place and restaurants. Lake Nona is growing quickly so there are more and more shopping and restaurant options within a few miles. I"m only sad that the rent increases every year even though my salary does not.

This is an old community, the units are old, roofs leak. The walks are very thin and it's very noisy here. The management is rude. Other places in the area are new, with better quality tenants, friendlier staff and they sell for the same price.

I lived at Retreat at Lake Nona for 2 years. I never had any issues while I was there in reference to safety. I always felt very comfortable in the apartment complex. I am a single female, and skittish at times, but never felt uncomfortable walking to and from my place late at night. Anytime I needed anything fixed within my apartment (blinds, garbage disposal, and heat during our "winter" month) they fixed the issue right away. The only reason why I moved was due to location (far drive for me for work) and rent increase (trying to save money). I would recommend this place to anybody. If i could afford the rent, and if it was closer to work, I would not have left, and would have renewed for another year. I just moved out this weekend, so we will see if I get my deposit back. I made sure to clean the entire apartment like they requested. Only issue I had was when I dropped off my keys, I was told I had to get my carpets professionally cleaned, which was not communicated to me if I did not renew my lease, so I am hoping this does not cause any issues with my deposit. All the neighbors were very friendly where I lived. I have a HUGE phobia of bugs, and I never once had a bug issue while I was there. Only thing I wished was the patios were screened in due to wasps. But that's what you get in Florida, by water, and lots of trees. I am definitely going to miss the space within the apartment, and will DEFINITELY miss the huge bathroom!!! I have never seen any drug deals, very quiet, and LOVED that I could not hear my neighbors when they moved around in their apartment, or returned/left their apartment.
3 apartments in the complex selling drugs. Administration chose not to do anything about it. We live in fear, cant wait to move
It's a beautiful place in a wonderful area better then me and my family ever stayed
one of the best places I have ever visited. I would highly recommend moving here.
