Lofts at City Center

The entire facility is disgusting. Trash at every enterence. Dead cockroaches INSIDE the stoves; black mold around vents, on walls, etc. The halls smell like urine and rotting garbage. Garbage built up at the enterences from the parking garages to the nasty halls. Dead rats...obviously feasting on the mounds of garbage! The photos on-line are a false representation of what your college student is getting into! The model you are shown, IS NOT what you get! The place needs to be condemed! Not safe, and definately NOT a healthy place for your college student to live in!!!

Please incoming college students avoid the Lofts. This place has rats,raccoons,& possums in the ceilings. Like you can literally see & hear them in the air vents. Not to mention it is not the cleanest. Trash in every hallway

This apartment has been poor since I moved in 2020 and it has only gotten worse. The staff is rude, the apartment is completely run over w/ rats and everyone in the office says that “the problem is too far gone to fix it”. I would NEVER MOVE HERE! Literally the price is not worth it. I had a 2 rats fall from the ceiling, the office is rude and they don’t try to accommodate your rent @ all! Whatever you go through, rats, holes, broken AC, fires in your apartment that are their fault, and even explosions of water.

Where to begin. Our daughter moved in at the beginning of the school year 2022. After being in the dorms last year, we had all the hope that the Lofts would be a nice location to continue her college experience. So far it has been a legitimate disaster. The room that we were not allowed to occupy 2 weeks after paying rent because updates were being made was furnished without any locking mechanism on the front door. In addition, the kitchen sink is leaking, dryer has no heat, and multiple locks throughout the apartment are non-functional. Any interaction with the front desk representatives have been ignored and nothing has been repaired after over 2 and a 1/2 weeks. Having your daughter there without a mechanism to lock doors when leaving apartment is a travesty and should be addressed with a much higher priority than they are offering. I'm hoping this review prevents another student from being placed in a dangerous situation. We're hoping for management to make any progress on the situation before legal means have to be activated.

when my roommates & i first moved in our apartment was full of mold & maggots, it was not cleaned before our arrival. some things that were broken before we moved in were never fixed after notifying maintenance, we had to fix multiple things ourselves. the area is not safe, we had an unknown man spend hours sitting in front of our apartment door. not a safe place for anyone.

Great amenities and easy shuttle ride to campus!!!

We experienced zero communication when our son’s roommate transferred schools and subleased. When we voiced our concerns the staff was rude and unprofessional. The management obviously cares nothing about satisfied renters.

Y’all need to see this place. It’s super awesome. You can find anything nearby and the apartments are great too! They have a modern look to the apartment and have a great view too! #movehere

- Unhelpful staff - Gross facilities - Falling apart - Bad location - Charge for random expenses and don't explain why - Live anywhere else, if your kid is asking you to live somewhere more expensive do that because its not worth the trouble of living here - I lived here because I am paying my way through college if you love your kid at all though please pick anywhere else

There is barely any insulation in the walls and ceilings here so you get to know your neighbors pretty easily because of that. It’s currently 3 am and I’m writing this review because my upstairs neighbor’s dog enjoys barking relentlessly at this hour EVERY SINGLE MORNING. I have complained to management countless times to no avail. The person above me has been an issue for months and I’ve had to call the Tuscalossa non emergency line to file noise complaints and have raging parties on a Thursday night shut down because management and after hours services is MIA. I’m a college student who values their sleep and I truly get NONE because management refuses to address issues with noise. DON’T MOVE HERE.

This place is dirty, the hallways don’t get cleaned, there has been dog poop by the stairs for months, we have found so many cockroaches in our unit and when we call the office they don’t solve the problem. The saunas and steam room have never worked, they take at least 2 days to notify you of a package after it’s delivered and always say “they can’t find it”. The workers are rude and look down on you for having problems. I have never lived in a more filthy apartment.

The managers at this property are unprofessional! They never take or return calls. If you have a legitimate concern then forget it... handle it yourself.

This place has an issue allowing garage to pile up in all hall walls that contains used femiane products that are open, food that is rotting, and other garage hardard items. It’s clear when notifying the leasing manager after the garage as been filling shuts and hall ways for a week, they do nothing. I WOULD NOT recommend any parent to place their child in these living conditions. The city inspectors should shut this place down or wise demand from the owner, which I have sent pictures to hire responsible adults who care about property and safety of these kids.

Do not lease here! This place is a nightmare. They need to be shut down. DO NOT LEASE HERE, it will be a huge mistake. They didn't clean my room before I moved in and it had cobwebs everywhere as well as a stained mattress, stained and dirty carpet, bed bugs, dirty kitchen appliances and broken washer and dryers.

Akasia Reed 1 review in the last week As a student, The Lofts are not for you and do not deserve your money. Everyone, this is including management, is highly unprofessional and will give you the bare minimum when wanting to resolved an issue. Don't even think about reaching out to the property manager and assistant property manager. If them being dressed in casual wear, or sweat pants doesn't tell you enough then I do not know what will convince you. When you initially walk in everyone comes across as sweet understanding people, as they should. But come in with a problem you want resolved and you will soon realize they will have a completely different attitude towards you. Just to let you know exactly what you'll have to deal with, not ONE person is the same person you would've dealt with or in the same position from six months ago, heck not even three months ago. This, which only adds to my initial point with managment being untrained and not knowing how to speak to people or handle situations that come off as "frustrating". I am actually embarrassed to even say I wanted to live here. They have made me genuinely hate college/student living apartments. However there are SOME positives, if you want the comfort of security and the classy look of granite top and wooden floors then this is the place to come. All of their amenities are top notched. That's about it when speaking of positives for this apartment.

t's a great place for renting a apartment because of the location. The apartments are right next to Texas Roadhouse and Aldi which is great. You don't even have to drive to Aldi which is so convenient for us students. In addition you have CVS that sits on the side of Texas Roadhouse because now if Aldi don't have the supplies you're looking for then CVS is the best place to go. Now the apartments are great because of the amenities it has to offer. You have pools, grills and a 24/7 fitness gym. On top of the gym there's an sauna and steam room to wrap up your workout. This means you don't even have to get a membership at planet fitness or get up to go the school Rec. I would recommend the lofts to anyone looking to lease to an apartment.

This is the best apartment if you want to just have to walk across a street to get supplies, food, and sporting goods. There is a central pool with a grill and also a pool to swim laps. Many pool tables, hang out areas, and places to play sports. This complex has a gym and is also pet friendly. All the rooms are nicely furnished with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.This apartment also has its own residents parking garage, to protect there cars. These apartments also have a bus that can come and take residents into town. The last thing that makes this apartment unique is a Texas Roadhouse right in front of it.
