As the name implies, Downtown West Saint Louis is west of the downtown district, a few miles from the Mississippi River. This vibrant urban neighborhood is about three miles from the renowned Gateway Arch monument and houses some of the city’s biggest attractions and landmarks. Neighboring office buildings, a diverse selection of restaurants, and vast museums, Downtown West is also home to the Saint Louis Wheel, the Enterprise Center, and the Stifel Theatre. Urban parks and plazas add a breath of fresh air in this urban hub. Green spaces such as Aloe Plaza, Memorial Plaza, and Kaufman Park host community events like Taste of Saint Louis. Of course, being next to Downtown Saint Louis means residents only have to walk a few blocks to experience more thrilling nightlife sports, eateries, and attractions. And if that’s not enough, Downtown West offers quick access to Grand Center, the city’s arts district filled with galleries, museums, theaters and more.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Draper
I lived there in the summer of 2023 till summer 2025 and overall it was great. There are new owners and they've been slowly renovating the apartment. It's an old building so don't expect everything to be perfect, but for the location and amenities, the rent is pretty fair
Manager is totally rude and invasive in your business. She is one of the worst people and managers to work with. Everyone knows it. Dont waste your time or money.
Worst building to live in the property manager is one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life . I cannot find fresh properties managements phone number to complain it's no where to be found I hate these people so much because they are liars .. I may be moving if my issue is not fixed at locust street lofts
Locust Street Loft Apartments in St. Louis are wonderful. The leasing and maintenance staff are super friendly, helpful, and most accommodating. The building is located in a fun and trendy part of downtown St. Louis that is undergoing a huge revitalization - very exciting. Just walking distance from cool clubs and brew houses, and great dining. The common areas in the building are always clean and inviting. Laundry room, community room, and workout facilities are well maintained and easily accessible. The building and parking lot are secure and safe. The apartments are lofted and modern and have a very urban feel - wood floors and big beautiful windows. It's these features that led my 15 year old brother to conclude that my apartment is, "Just like in the movies!"
I've been here for almost a year & it started off well. But after a while the manager started accusing my dogs of doing things, which they weren't. Which they're also other dogs on the floor that I stay on. I also am offended that she stated something about the clothes that I wear, & it's also the summer time which means it's 80 plus in St. Louis. Things started breaking, it takes a while for them to even get it to it. I also feel that the manager is very rude & the way that she talks to me & my gusts are very inappropriate. I wouldn't recommend this building to anyone.
