dates back to 1810, it didn't become a city until 2012. North Brookhaven
is one of Atlanta's
most popular neighborhoods, located just inside the Perimeter with I-285 bordering North Brookhaven on the north side. The neighborhood extends southward to Windsor Parkway, which separates the neighborhood from Oglethorpe University. North Brookhaven includes the historic Peachtree Golf Club, Blackburn Park (home to a large tennis center), and Murphey Candler Park.
One of the area's most popular parks, Murphey Candler Park covers 135 acres around a large lake. The park offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic areas, ball fields, fishing, and hiking trails.
Parents often choose to rent apartments in North Brookhaven because of the many top-ranking public and private schools located here. These include Marist School, the Kittredge Magnet School, St. Martin's Episcopal School, and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School. North Brookhaven is also a great location for students and faculty of Oglethorpe University, and it is perfect for commuters -- I-285 and MARTA make reaching Downtown Atlanta -- just 14 miles south -- quick and easy. The DeKalb-Peachtree Airport is adjacent to North Brookhaven, and the popular Perimeter Mall is about a block north. Within the neighborhood, Johnson Ferry Road provides a commercial district, featuring Publix Super Market, Kroger, CVS, and popular restaurants like Bon Glaze and Pure Taqueria Brookhaven.
