History & Culture
Cordova had its beginnings as a small farming village outside of Memphis. The city was well-known for its fresh-cut flowers that are sent to Memphis. In 1889 a railroad station was built along the St. Louis railway route to Memphis. This new route brought in new residents and business. Hunter’s Hollow came into being with the expansion of the city. Cordova continued to experience prosperity and is now considered the fastest-growing area in Memphis. Step back in time and take a stroll through Cordova Museum to learn more about the intriguing history and culture of the area.
Cordova holds a number of annual festivals and events that bring the community together. Residents gear up for the annual Fourth of July Parade along the main street in historic downtown Cordova. You may also want to check out the Cordova Crafts Fair, which draws visitors from around the state.
Hunter’s Hollow is located northeast of Memphis, off Interstate-40 and Highway-177. It should take about 23 minutes to drive from Hunter’s Hollow to the center of Memphis via Interstate-40. On-street parking is available throughout Hunter’s Hollow.

The Hunter’s Hollow area is serviced by the Memphis Area Transit Authority, which provides a few bus routes to the area. These routes connect to Memphis and outlying areas.
No dedicated bike lanes or trails exist within the area. The shops and attraction in Hunter’s Hollow are quite spread out, making it a bit difficult to access on foot alone.
