Lakeside and Santee are mostly white with very little diversity. El Cajon and La Mesa are more diverse.

This neighborhood is is nice and safe with the occasional ambulance call every 5 or 6 months. It's not the best neighborhood since everyone tends to keep to themselves unless they are already friend or family but it's an okay one.

There is a lot of crime, and the area needs more businesses that improve the quality of life (i.e. gyms, after school programs), but the community is kind and tight knit. It is a very loving environment and the people here are wonderful, I would live here just for the community and the schools. Even though it is not the prettiest community, it is the nicest, and if we invested more into the people we could really improve.

I feel safe in this area. I frequently hear sirens, but to me that means that the authorities are responsive and visible. And that makes me feel safe.
