On the east side of the community is Lake Park and its golf course. Residents enjoy biking or walking along Oak Leaf Trail, which passes along a Lake Michigan lighthouse that dates back to 1855.

The neighborhood contains numerous public transportation bus stops, and is directly below the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus.
