Besides numerous ponds that dot the neighborhood, the Arkansas River runs along the north and south borders, giving the area a rural feel. Find homes for rent along MacArthur Road and then take a walk to Chapin Park, which sits at the bend of the river. The 190-acre area includes mountain biking and walking trails, plus river access. When locals aren’t outdoors, they like to hang out at Buster’s Burger Joint. The old-fashioned Starlite Drive-In movie theater is also a town favorite. Head north seven miles to Downtown Wichita for some good eats at Sabor Latin Bar and Grille or B&C Barbeque.
