Part of the reason for that is its university -- Loyola University Chicago, established in 1870 as a private Catholic university, is located in the southeast section of Rogers Park. This private research university is considered one of the best in the nation and ranked as the 20th best university in the world in 2017. Historic, brick apartment buildings stand in neat rows along tree-lined streets in Rogers Park, considered one of the best neighborhoods in Chicago. After moving to Rogers Park, you'll discover brightly-painted murals, theaters, art galleries, and even a sculpture garden in the Glenwood Avenue Arts District. Head to Clark Street and discover a new favorite restaurant for every night of the week, ranging from Mexican to Romanian to Italian to Nigerian and beyond. Go shopping along Rogers Avenue or spend the afternoon at Pottawattomie Park. Spend summer days soaking up the sun at Loyola Beach. Hop on the "L" -- you'll find subway stations at Howard Street, Jarvis Avenue, and Morse Avenue -- to explore the rest of the Windy City.

Rodgers Park is NOT a nice place to live in. It is dangerous after dark , run down, and I would think a bad place to raise a family. People that disagree are not being honest with themselves. The rents are relatively high, and the rental buildings are to a large extent run down.

Excellent place to live. Nearby universities for higher education. Diversity in the neighborhood allows people to learn, grow, and understand each other. I have some neighbors who have different ethnicity. Whether they are from Israel, Jordan, Jamaica, Afghansaian, or even Causatian. Rogers Park has it all.
